Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WR60X10238

Fix noisy or squealing sounds from the back of your fridge with a new condenser fan motor. Typical DIY repair takes 8-10 minutes with basic tools.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Frig and freezer not cold enough   Brian L. • North Las Vegas , NV • July 22, 2019

After removing the rear panel, I vacuumed the area. Then was easy to see condenser fan not spinning. I replaced the fan with a compression ring and a fan motor. First pulled the wiring harness connected to fan motor, then pulled off the fan with hands. Then used a wrench to remove 2 bolts for the motor. Next, pushed on new fan and screwed in the 2 bolts for the motor. Initially, I purchased a new temperature control to replace as well but after replacing fan and motor, I believe it was still... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You GE frig doing awful intermittent loud squeaking !   Susan D. • Sarasota , FL • December 03, 2018

After a lot of research on internet we thought it might be the condenser fan motor . we were a but confused as frig still working and cooling. I had imagined if motor gone bad it would just stop . However on taking back off frig we could see fan sometimes slowed and then began loud "animal " squeaking noise ! Although the back bottom of our fridge was relatively open it was very tricky to ease out fan and motor. Fortunately I had also ordered fan and grommet as fan was almost impossible to... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You GE refrigerator front and rear wheels. The rubber shell on the wheels had cracked and peeled off.   Carl C. • London , OH • August 18, 2023

The front wheel assembly replacement (WRXO2X12454) was straightforward and easy to do. Took maybe 30 minutes start to finish. The rear wheel assembly (wheel WRO2X10695 and axle WRO1X10604) that was more involved as the original wheel axle is actually a rivet that you have to cut out. 1. I used a vibrating multitool with a carbide blade to cut the axle out. Had to use a pair of vise grips to hold the rivet to keep it from spinning while cutting it. 2. The new axle I drilled a 2mm hole thru the... Read more

We isolated a burning smell in our kitchen to our refrigerator, GE Profile PSS23MGTCCC which we purchased in November of 2006. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Evaporator fan making noise/changing speed; freezer light socket bad   Paul S. • Albany , OH • November 26, 2016

Had some confusion of what part I needed, needed the one with the motor and thermostat. Fortunately, I've been fixing wiring for many years, I simply cut the new motor out of the harness, and used that nice glue-inside-heat-shrink tubing to seal the soldered 'Western Union' style splices. New light socket and lamps fit fine, worked fine, new motor is fine, problem resolved. FYI: Look closely at the wiring in you unit, there are two wire harnesses, one feeds the light, the other feeds the motor... Read more
