The repair was quite simple. Once the plate holding the element was off just unhook the wires and attach the new element. The issues were the wires are tight and had to hold onto the wires so they did not go into the back of the range. Also had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to get the wires off of the element. I unplugged the oven and then removed the back panel. Next I started started removing cables from the old control board one by one, being careful to plug them into the same place on the new board.
