Oven Door Hinge, Single
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 74011475

This oven door hinge supports and guides the door through its range of motion so it opens smoothly and seals tightly when closed. Replacing a fatigued hinge restores proper door alignment and consistent oven performance. What it does:

  • Provides spring-assisted tension to control door opening and closing
  • Helps the door seal evenly against the gasket to retain heat
  • Maintains correct stop positions to prevent slamming or over-travel
  • Common symptoms: door won't close fully or pops open, drops/slams, sits crooked, heat escaping/long preheat
What's included:
  • One door hinge assembly
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker; allow the oven to cool completely before servicing.
  • Remove the door per your model's procedure (often open to the broil stop, engage hinge locks, then lift off).
  • Use hinge locks/pins to control spring tension and prevent snap-back during removal/installation.
  • Support the door to avoid damage; many replace both hinges together to keep tension balanced.

Spark Module (Ignition Control)
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: 74009098

Spark module that controls the ignition sequence for gas range surface burners, producing the spark needed to light burners. Replacing a faulty module restores proper sparking and helps eliminate persistent clicking or no-ignite conditions. What it does:

  • Generates high-voltage sparks to the burner igniters so gas burners light reliably; failure can cause burners not to ignite.
  • Directs spark timing for individual surface burners; symptoms of failure include continuous clicking, intermittent sparks, or one or more burners failing to light.
  • Works with the range's ignition system to coordinate spark and valve operation; does not include igniters or valves.
What's included: One spark module. Install notes:
  • Disconnect electrical power (and gas supply where applicable) before beginning any repairs.
  • Photograph wiring connections before removal to ensure correct reconnection; reconnect wires to matching terminals.
  • Use the exact OEM part number and replace with the same module to ensure proper fit and operation.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I needed to convert my jenn air stove top range back to natural gas from lp and the orifices were not available by themselves so i needed to order new orifice holders that included the ng orifices   James M. • Brooklyn , WI • November 23, 2015

I had to drill out the screws that hold down the burner plates which also mount to the orifice holders because all of the screws had rusted tight and could not be loosened. The drilling out part was fairly easy and once I had removed the burner plates, I could easily lift the stove top off and get access to the orifice holders to replace all of them. I purchased new stainless steel self-threading screws from our local hardware store and re-assembled the new orifice holders and existing burner... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Continuous sparking and then a fire   Richard B. • San Dimas , CA • March 04, 2017

A few weeks back, when shutting off a burner, the igniter started sparking and wouldn't stop. Working the knobs and jiggling them got it to stop. Fast forward a few weeks. Finish cooking, go sit down to eat. Hear snapping noise, go look, see burners are all off and the igniters are all sparking. Jiggle the knobs. Poof! Flames come out the top one! What a stink. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Replace igniter on gas oven (maytag)   Jeffrey H. • Pelham , NH • January 03, 2020

I had to remove the oven door, which I learned is made to come off without tools. Then took out the bottom by removing two screws and lifting. Removed the screws attaching the igniter, pulled wires thru back until I could get the connector and disconnect. When the new igniter arrived, I had to change the connector. I cut the one off the old one, and spliced to the new one using solder and shrink tubing. Just reverse the procedure to install. I replaced the screws with new ones. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No spark in front two burners   Bob F. • Matamoras , PA • October 12, 2020

The top had to be removed but with the unit being 14 years old, galvanic corrosion had seized the screws holding the Burner Heads to the Orifices. I carefully drilled out the heads of the screws until the Burner heads could be pulled free. I removed the two screws that held the Burner control assembly with all the gas valves in place.
