Replaced direct drive washer pump, the wash tub gasket and the fill hose. I also replaced the direct drive motor coupling since the rubber was deteriorated. Removing the inner wash tub for the gasket change is challenging, especially in older machines. 24 hours before starting the removal, spray penetrating oil around the lip of the washer drive block. Replaced clutch assembly which was a little tricky, but very doable. Just make sure to take your time. I do have to say that I am very impressed with AppliancePartsPro customer service when the replacement part also failed. A new clutch assembly was at my door step a few days later. I saw videos on it possibly being the lid switch. I used 2 lead wires to bypass the lid switch, which indicated it was indeed the lid switch that was faulty. I ordered the lid switch, which came in 2 days. I installed it in less than 7 minutes. Read more

I have a 25 year old Kenmore washer that works well and didn't want to get a new washer as they don't make them like they used to. Upon removing the top cap of the agitator and doing an inspection, the agitator dogs were completely broken into pieces. Due to age we decided to replace the lower and upper agitator along with the agitator auger dogs repair kit. All new parts and works fine. On inspection of old parts, we probably could have gotten away with just a $5 repair for the plastic... Read more

After watching your repair video I disassembled my machine and replaced the broken switch with a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. I had to replace the drive shaft and the lower agitator. The motor coupling was also worn out. The repair was challenging because I had to rebuild the gear box. This step was really messy and I had to wait for the liquid gasket to set prior to completing the repair. Cleaning and prep of all of the parts tripled the repair time. Read more

Normally I would do a better job of investigating my problem with what others have experienced and then proceed with the cheapest fix first. This time though I just knew it was the timer. I ordered the correct part, installed it, plugged in the cord, turned on the washer and still no drain and no spin. What a defeated feeling. So I went back to the web site. Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!)
