Replaces worn or broken lower door hinge that no longer provides proper tension. Installs at the bottom center of French door refrigerators to pivot and support the door. Essential for smooth door operation and proper seal.
Replaced both lower hinges and it did fix the problem. The only issue I had was when reinserting the water line. Because of the slight bend in the hose, it was catching at the end before exiting in the back. Hopefully I didn't tweak the line to cause any future issues. Replaced defrost sensor in freezer compartment, if you are handy this is a do it yourself job. The cover in the freezer section just pops out not tools needed. You will need a few small zip ties and some cutters to remove the old zip ties. Take a picture were the old sensor was before removing and reinstall in the same place. The ice chute flap wasnt closing. 1. I turned off power 2, Pulled off facia around controls on freezer door,, you have to pull out the bottom part of the chute first , its clipped in 3. According to LG site error code is Refrigerator Fan. I removed the current fan by taking out the shelves. Then removing the bottom left track that is held in by 2 screws and a tab. Then you remove the plenum in the back. To do so, remove 2 screws under that hold the middle rack support. You need to lift up the covers that cover the screws. First, I took an ohm reading across the elements and determined the bad one, which was failed, open circuit. (Zero continuity) I then replaced the lower heating element of the upper oven.
