Ordered a very expensive piece of plastic in hopes it would prevent me from trashing an expensive and old freezer. Followed the instructions and the new gasket fit very easily. I used the hair dryer to reform the gasket per instructions. Although the gasket does seal, the freezer no longer has the vacum seal swoosh that was with the original gasket. Will watch and make sure the gasket does seal and the freezer does freeze. Read more

Replace the lock assembly: Open the lid and remove four philips screws from underneath the gasket. Carefully and patiently remove all of the gasket clips, first from the left and right sides then remove all but two from the top so when the final one comes out the panel and gasket can come towards you and then set gently in the top of the freezer.
