• Freezer section too warm
• Won't start

After running some tests I determined that the problem was a bad defrost timer. The timer would occasionally fail to trigger the compressor to restart at the end of the defrost cycle. Since I had the unit taken apart, I replaced the termination t-stat and the compressor start relay at the same time. Parts came quick 1.5 days, job completed and the unit is up and running. Easy to remove the metal parts from the old bin. The only problem was that the screw that holds the adapter has red thread locker and screwdriver rounded off the head of the screw. Drilled the screw and heated the screw to loosen the thread locker and used an ease out to remove the screw. Read more

Removed the handle with two screws on the inside front and pulled out the custom wood panel. Pulled the compactor out from under cabinet. Tipped it over on back of unit, supporting it with a little foot stool. Unscrewed two lower screws at bottom of unit holding black trim panel (that held wood panel in place) and lower black rubber flap. I found several "threads" on my google search which indicated that it might be caused by a non-functional condenser fan. I removed the back bottom panel and voila, the fan was not spinning even though the compressor was running and felt very hot. The water dispenser stopped working on my Sears Kenmore (Whirlpool) side-by-side refrigerator and after much research on the web I purchased the parts that commonly failed for this condition. I should have first taken the dispenser assembly apart but I didn't--it looked a little too intimidating to do twice. • Light not working

We actually were able to determine that one of the freezer switches was bad and taped it down for about 3 days. The beeping stopped. Our fridge has two freezer switches and one fridge side switch. I ordered all three from these guys. They were cheaper than Whirlpool by about $20 for parts and about $15 for shipping. • Not dispensing water

Replaced water valve to fix water not going to door, easy enough to do. Replaced icemaker which was corroded inside the cube-forming trays causing black flakes to come off stuck to the ice cubes, and was also leaking causing the water to drip into the ice bucket making one giant ice cube. Ten-minute job, which took an hour and a half. this is a 25-year-old unit and I only had access to the plug on the back of the icemaker, the other end was behind the rear wall. Replaced both sets of door cams on my Kenmore Elite Refrigerator. The most important thing to know is that you DO NOT have to remove the doors from the refrigerator to replace BOTH sets of cams. You just have to remove the lower grill which is a snap fit (I also turned off the water and unplugged the unit).
