This refrigerator ice auger sits inside the ice bin and rotates to move cubes or crushed ice toward the chute. Replacing a worn, bent, or stripped auger restores smooth, consistent dispensing performance. What it does:
- Rotates inside the ice bin to feed ice toward the crusher and dispenser chute
- Helps deliver either cubes or crushed ice depending on the selector
- Common symptoms: dispenser motor runs but no ice comes out, weak/intermittent dispensing, frequent ice jams, or grinding noises from the ice bucket
What's included:
Install notes:
- Unplug the refrigerator before servicing; remove and empty the ice bin
- Note the order of internal parts during disassembly; transfer any reusable hardware from the original assembly
- Wear cut-resistant gloves—metal and plastic edges can be sharp
- Reassemble so the auger turns freely by hand, reinstall the bin, restore power, and test the dispenser

Ice would not dispense Gary A. • Chula Vista , CA • August 21, 2020
Found bad auger motor drive shaft, it was rounded on the end that goes into motor. While I was there I replaced the seal, auger (old one rusty) and coupler. The new auger is stainless steel (I believe and slightly longer) and should not corrode like old white one. If changing auger, make sure you put the assembly back together correctly (take a few pics of the old one and lay it out as taken apart). As always, parts arrived quickly.

This trash compactor is in our vacation home. We never use it and now we are selling the house. When I looked to replace it I was amazed at how expensive a new compactor would cost. I found the serial number on the current compact entered it and your web site came up. Your schematics were excellent and made the repair very easy!

This refrigerator compressor is the heart of the sealed cooling system. It compresses and circulates refrigerant so the fresh food and freezer sections reach and maintain set temperatures, restoring cooling performance when the original unit has failed.
- Compresses and moves refrigerant through the evaporator and condenser to remove heat from the cabinet
- Restores cooling when a failed or seized compressor is the cause of no-cool/weak-cool conditions
- Symptoms include a warm refrigerator or freezer, extended run time with little cooling
- Clicking or humming from the compressor area with no start, or overheating and cycling on overload
What's included: Compressor only. Install notes:
- Sealed-system service requires EPA Section 608 certification, recovery equipment, brazing, deep vacuum, and precise recharging
- Disconnect power and properly recover refrigerant before opening the system; replace the filter-drier, braze with nitrogen purge, leak-test, evacuate, then charge to the specification on the model's data plate
- Transfer any model-specific grommets, brackets, tubing, and external inverter/start components from the original unit or replace as directed in the service manual

- Mineral buildup or a failed coil can restrict flow or prevent the valve from opening/closing
What's included: One water inlet valve assembly Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
- Place a towel to catch residual water and relieve line pressure at the hose
- Note wire and line locations; transfer any brackets or fittings from the old valve as needed
- Restore water and power, check for leaks at all connections, and run a test fill

Water dispenser had a slow drip which would eventually overflow the small drip tray Corey T. • Falls Church , VA • February 25, 2017
Replaced the water inlet valve. Because my fridge (KitchenAid) is a commercial style with the compressor on top, the inlet valve was underneath the fridge so most work done laying on my side.
I raised the feet as high as they would go, released to two screw for the metal housing that the inlet valve was attached to then swung it toward the front. From here, I was able to remove the two screws holding the inlet valve to the metal housing freeing it.
Then I removed the hoses and the electrical...

This is a replacement screw designed to work with a wide range of household appliances. It is used for many purposes in these appliances, from holding body panels together to securing electronics into control boards. However, screws are subject to damage through corrosion, impact, and improper installation/removal. In most cases, the primary damage to this screw is through corrosion – it may become rusted or corroded in place, depending on the appliance and the maintenance provided during its lifespan. The screw may also be stripped or rounded due to improper removal or installation. If the screw is damaged, lost, or corroded in place, it will need to be replaced. In most cases, removal will require nothing more than a Phillips head screwdriver or the appropriately sized socket with a ratchet. However, if the screw is damaged, it may require a tap set to remove it from its mounting location. Note that this is a genuine OEM replacement screw made from durable, high-quality metal, and is sold individually. It fits Whirlpool, Maytag, Roper, Estate, Amana, Crosley, and Thermador appliances. It is used in over 150 machines, ranging from washers and dryers to air conditioners.

Ice dispenser was skipping so not dispensing ice Del H. • Midlothian , TX • September 03, 2018
The problem was that the motor coupler & shaft had a tiny bit of rust at their union. With the weight of the ice bin it rusted in the lowest position. This didn't allow the motor coupler to float on the shaft. There is a spring inside the shaft that pushes up on the motor coupler keeping it engaged in the ice bin coupler above. This coupler in turn rotates the auger in the bin to dispense the ice. I removed the motor coupler & shaft, tapped the coupler loose and filed off the rust. This allowed...
