This inlet protector is the coarse screen that covers the dishwasher's pump/sump inlet, blocking large debris from entering the wash system. Replacing a damaged or missing protector helps maintain water flow and protect the pump from jams or wear.

Replaced the heating element as shown in the video. Repaired a bad connector on the wire leading to the heating element. The clean light still flashed 3 times. Determined that the thermal fuse also needed to be replaced. Replaced the thermal fuse as shown in the video. The clean light now flashed 7 times which I discovered meant that the control panel needed to be reset. I then reset the control panel by pressing the buttons: normal, heated dry, normal, heated dry. This electronic control board is the dishwasher's main circuit board. It directs wash, drain, and dry functions and coordinates the user interface. Replacing a failed board restores responsive controls and reliable, complete cycles.
