The old filter head was broken at the supply line side connector fell out. The clicking noise eventually caused the fridge to warm up and stop cooling. The clicking was the overload relay tripping. The left hinge works on the right side as well as the left. All you have to do is unscrew the little plastic post and move it to the other hole.
