I first installed the inlet pump with no results. I then ordered a Control Switch and Float and Nut. This fixed the problem. Everything comes out so clean. I also replaced the filter which allowed me to clean debris around old filter. It is also easier to replace all these parts with the dishwasher pulled out and tilted on its side. I had to pull mine out to unplug power to the dishwasher. Read more

Replaced the heating element as shown in the video. Repaired a bad connector on the wire leading to the heating element. The clean light still flashed 3 times. Determined that the thermal fuse also needed to be replaced. Replaced the thermal fuse as shown in the video. The clean light now flashed 7 times which I discovered meant that the control panel needed to be reset. I then reset the control panel by pressing the buttons: normal, heated dry, normal, heated dry. It now works perfectly. Read more

Seal included. This sump housing assembly includes a 32.17 millimeter hole for the thermistor. If the hole for the thermistor is 31-31.5 millimeters you will need to order WP8534882.
I noticed the floor around the dishwasher was starting to get wet and warp the wooden floor. The chopper had gotten out of line and had cut a pinhole into the sump housing and the dishwasher was leaking badly. It was quite easy to repair. Just unhook the drain hose and the wire connectors, twist off the turbidity sensor and waste motor, pull out the shims and the whole assemple comes up and out. The hardest part was pulling the motor off of the assembly, since I wasn't sure if I needed to... Read more

I found the videos on dishwasher repair that AppliancePartsPros offers and determined the likely cause of the problem. I removed the door cover and found soap caked on the back. I cleaned the cover and switched the wax motors to see if the clean rinse motor was good and ran a tested cycle. No improvement. I ordered two new wax motors for the Maytag dishwasher and those arrived in a few days from AppliancePartsPros. I replaced the old motors and ran a test cycle. The soap tray opened correctly.... This replacement part is a dishwasher pump and motor assembly. The dishwasher pump and pump motor circulate water through the dishwasher's spray arm. When the spray arms aren't spraying properly, this could mean that it's time for a new pump and motor assembly. Luckily replacing this part is a relatively simple process.Start by making sure the dishwasher is unplugged. After that shut off the water supply going to the dishwasher. Then disconnect the drain line from the garbage disposal or sink drain. Open the dishwasher door and pull out the bottom dish rack. Remove the upper dishrack from its track. Release the spray arm on the bottom of the washer. Then proceed to release the feed tube clips. Using a nut driver remove the bottom access panel and tow panel. Pull them out to remove them. Remove the power cable from the junction box, and disconnect the supply line from the inlet valve. Proceed to pull the dishwasher out of the counter. Tilt the dishwasher on its side and pull the hose from the drain pump. Remove the wire harness from the pump. Disconnect wires from diverter motor and circulation motor. Once complete, proceed to tilt the dishwasher upright and remove the pump and motor assembly from the bottom of the dishwasher. Replace with the new assembly. This replacement part is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand dishwashers.
Checked the grinder/pump well at the bottom of the dishwasher and fished out some aluminum foil, wire twist ties, broken plastic forks, etc. That was fun but it didn't solve the problem. Purchased new pump & motor assembly and installed it as per Youtube video. It requires pulling out the dishwasher, disconnecting electric, hotwater, and drain lines, and then removing a bunch of clips and connectors. That was time consuming but basically easy ... except that seating the new assembly gasket... Read more
