Would not heat Chris A. • Saint Joseph , IL • January 04, 2017
I figured there could only be a couple reasons why the dryer would not heat so I did some research. I read where you could test for continuity on the parts to determine which one was bad. A friend referred me to this site, I looked up the part for my particular model, ordered and replaced the part. It could not have been any easier. I will come back to this site with my future appliance parts needs for sure!

This genuine replacement part is a drive motor for dryers. The drive motor is the main engine that allows the dryer drum to rotate. If the drum is no longer spinning properly, the drive motor might need to be replaced. Luckily this is a relatively simple process. To replace the drive motor, begin by unplugging the dryer. Once it is powered off, uninstall the front panel of the dryer by removing the screws that attach it. After that, lift the top panel above the drum so that it is vertical and no longer covering the drum. Then disconnect the wires from the moisture sensors with a screwdriver by pressing down on the locking tab. Once the wires have been removed, lift the drum out from the dryer to gain access to the drive motor. Using a socket wrench, remove the blower wheel from the motor assembly. Then remove the old drive motor by unthreading the mounting screws that attach it. Install the new drive motor and reassemble the dryer. This OEM replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Whirlpools, Maytag, Kitchenaid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand dryers.

Thermal fuse blew John P. • Palm Coast , FL • January 02, 2016
Cleaned exhaust duct, but only from the dryer/laundry room side. Replaced thermal fuse. Unit worked for about two loads and thermal fuse blew again. This time I cleaned the exhaust vent on the roof of my 2-story house. It was found to be partially obstructed and I was able to remove a significant amount of lint from it. Also, I researched the problem and followed someone's advice to replace the cycling thermostat together with the thermal fuse if the thermal fuse blows. So far it has been...

This door seal fits around the dryer door opening to keep heat and moisture inside the drum. Replacing a worn seal restores airflow, improves drying performance, and helps prevent lint and warm air from escaping around the door.
- Seals the door perimeter to maintain proper airflow and temperature inside the drum
- Reduces heat and moisture loss that can lead to longer dry times
- Helps contain lint and dust around the door opening
- Replace if the seal is torn, brittle, flattened, missing sections, or if you feel warm air or see lint escaping around the door
What's included: 1 door seal Install notes:
- Disconnect power and allow the dryer to cool before servicing
- Remove the old seal and clean the door surface so the new seal seats flat
- Align and press the new seal evenly around the opening; avoid stretching

Dryer was making a loud noise in use Brian L. • Sacramento , CA • November 21, 2019
I disassembled my dryer and found that the fan(blower wheel) was "free-spinning" on the motor shaft. A common problem with this model Maytag dryer. I also discovered that the right drum roller (drum support roller) was in the process of failing. Note: the fan drive was frozen on the motor shaft, this was the threaded type of motor and fan assembly. I was able to remove the fan drive by using vice-grip pliers, hammer and a combination wrench to hold motor from turning. Also Note: the fan...
