Dryer won't heat or flame cycles on and off? A warped burner assembly prevents reliable ignition. Moderate DIY repair restores even drying.
When I first looked at my dryer I thought it was my ignitor, on a closer look I found that about an inch of my burner assembly arm was laying in a corroded mess on the bottom pan of my dryer. I came online and found your website. After reviewing your parts I thought well I can probably get those local and with competive pricing. Wrong!! There are 3 appliance parts stores withing about 3 miles and I checked them all. Higher prices by 25-35% and longer wait times than your advertised... Read more

Dryer making loud noise or won't dry? A cracked or loose blower wheel often causes poor airflow. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours with basic tools.
I disassembled my dryer and found that the fan(blower wheel) was "free-spinning" on the motor shaft. A common problem with this model Maytag dryer. I also discovered that the right drum roller (drum support roller) was in the process of failing. Note: the fan drive was frozen on the motor shaft, this was the threaded type of motor and fan assembly. I was able to remove the fan drive by using vice-grip pliers, hammer and a combination wrench to hold motor from turning. Also Note: the fan... Read more

Dryer won't heat or shuts off mid-cycle? This thermostat and mounting plate kit restores accurate temperature control. Moderate DIY, 30-45 minutes.
After verifying the no heat problem myself, I just googled "LG3412W no heat" with my smartphone and thumb. One of the first hits was the Appliance Parts Pros website with a list of 8 possible parts that might fix this problem, listed in descending order of likelihood of success. With 3 adults worth of dirty laundry piling up and straining our ability to drip dry, I had to agonize over: 1) buying a new dryer from whatever a local dealer had in stock, then clearing years of valuable junk in... Gas smell during or after cycles? Dryer won't heat? Replace the gas valve assembly to restore proper gas flow and safe operation. Advanced repair.
Frigidaire Gallery gas dryer from maybe 15 years ago. Based on the fact the the smell was only in the dryer, I concluded it must be the gas valve failing to completely seal when closed. After looking at the insides again, I suppose it is possible that it was a connection near the burner, but that stuff had remained untouched for 10 years so I still think I made a good assumption. I got a new ignitor as well since I was in there, and compared to the valve, it was cheap! I thought I could get in... Read more
Fix a dryer that won't start, advance, or shut off properly. This timer controls cycle sequencing and duration. Moderate DIY repair, 30-60 minutes.
I had watched the repair video before the part came, it looked easy peasy, so I pulled the wires off the old timer, before noticing that my dryer didn't have the nice wire harness. All wires are clearly marked but 1. I had to search on the internet to make sure where to put it, extending the time of an easy install. Take a picture of your wiring BEFORE pulling everything apart, for reference. Read more
