After we saw that progressively our dishes were not getting clean we investigated the condition of the spray arms and this upper feed tube assembly. We found a huge crack on the side of this piece and new not enough water was getting to the arms. We also noticed a build up of soap and lime. Using instructions I obtained over the internet, I first removed the DW's bottom cover panels so I could look inside the DW (with a flashlight) while it was running. I had to put their dishwasher through several wash cycles before I could pinpoint the location of the leak. I replaced both support springs. It took several tries to get the springs installed in the correct orientation, even though I had read--and thought I understood--the instructions. The retainer side pin must be fed through the slot with the adjustment notches, and then latch it in the proper notch.
