Ok so my mom called GE and a service man came out. He said no good. The refrigerator was to old to be fixed. I first tried the manufacturer, General Electric, but they only showed freezer replacement parts for the model of my side-by-side refrigerator. Swapped it out for new tube. Take 5 minutes and zero effort. The drain tube will clog with mold. You can clean it out but the tube will clog again despite's you best efforts as the tube wall provide a great habitat. Ordered new tubes to facilitate swap-outs. Old tubes can be cleaned but will recolonize quickly. Read more

I cleaned the coils as best as I could with a special brush and replaced the seized up fan motor. Read more
