Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken fan switch   Steven E. • Waterloo , IN • November 21, 2015

The Fan Switch has been discontinued so had to look for a replacement. NO ONE had a replacement. Found a use appliance store that had one still in a bag. Purchased it. While changing the switch I noticed that the heat indicator were cracked. I was very surprised with the age of the cook top that these were still available. I placed the order and with 36 hours they were delivered. Very Happy. It is not Appliance Parts Pro that the original switch was discontinued. If this one fails I... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bearings were worn out makeing a lot of noise   Lawrence L. • Largo , FL • August 08, 2015

I had a lot of problems removing the spin hub, I had to use an air impact wrench to un screw it even then it was very hard, it did not go easy with the hammer & pipe wrench as shown in the video. It was also very hard to remove the bottom spin bearing I had to cut the bearing retainer with a dremel tool so I could get my puller on it. After I struggled to get it apart The repair went very easy, I used brake spring pliers to remove the springs it worked like a charm. I am very pleased with... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Jennair downdraft/inner glass had shattered   Jennifer W. • Medford Lakes , NJ • October 23, 2015

I ordered a Window Pac and a new oven door seal for this project. Our oven is 25+ years old and still works...I wasn't sure how easy or hard this would be, so initially I delayed ordering these parts for three weeks! I read up on 'how to' approach taking the door apart...and once I put two large nails in each hole on the door hinge, I was confident I could do this. As another reviewer wrote, the only tool you need is a phillips head screwdriver. I wore my headlamp flashlight so I could easily... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No the bake element and clock knobs were fine   Judy C. • St. Louis , MO • October 28, 2016

I had a friend watch the video and do the work. There was a problem in that the screws were rusted to the back plate and would not screw off. My friend had to use a drill to drill through them to be able to remove them. He had to go to a hardware store to buy a new set. Once we had the new screws it went fairly quickly. Now our oven works great just in time for baking season. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Severe vibration during washer spin cycle.   Robert G. • Richmond , VA • January 15, 2018

I followed the Appliance Parts Pro's advice videos for the Maytag MAV6451AWW Atlantis washer on replacing the snubber ring and the suspension springs. Everything went just fine except replacing the two rear most suspension springs. None of the videos illustrated REINSTALLING the REAR springs which is extremely difficult because you can't get enough leverage with your arm extended. Observing my frustration, my wife recommended taking off the back side. You can't simply take off the back,... Read more
