This seal has a drain hole. If your model does not have a drain hole, order part# 4986ER0001A.
Replaced the seal. Washer didn’t have a drain hole and this seal is no longer available. So I ordered the seal with a drain hole. The seal fits perfectly but I had to make a plug and use silicone to plug the drain hole. Read more

My washing machine had become increasingly loud during the spin cycles and you could feel a slight resistance when manually spinning the drum. I watched the bearing-replacement video on the website which was for a slightly different model with front mounted controls so I also downloaded the service manual to see how to disassemble my specific cabinet and controls. Once I had the washer disassembled and the tub & drum out I determined that bearing seal had failed and water had started to... Read more

This water inlet valve is a genuine OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacturer for use in washing machines. The water inlet valve is the gatekeeper for the water flow into the washer. When the operator sets the wash cycle, the solenoid fires up and tells the valve to open the gate for hot or cold water or both to fill the washer tub. When the tub has filled to a preset level, the valve gates close and the water flow stops. If this valve fails, the water will not stop and will eventually flood or the water might not be signaled to flow at all. This repair requires a Phillips screwdriver and pliers. Disconnect the power source and turn the water off before working on the washing machine. Remove the back panel from the washer and locate the inlet valve. Disconnect the hoses from the valve. Remove the damaged valve. Install the new inlet valve. Connect the hoses in the same order they were removed and put the back panel on the washer. Reconnect the water and power. This water inlet valve is made of molded plastic and is individually sold. It does not include screws. It is made specifically for washing machines manufactured by LG.
I found other posts on AppliancePartsPros.com to be helpful. Most people and pros indicated that it was the Cold Water intake valve which has 4 solenoids on it. I watched the video to replace the Hot Water valve which is right next to it. My washer opened differently than the one in the video but it was not hard to figure out. Tools needed; Philips screwdriver and pair of regular pliers. I took the screws off of the small panel on top on the back of the washer. This allowed the control... Read more

I found your tutorial, watched it a couple of times and decided I could do this! I got online and had a chat with your pro. I was a little disappointed to hear that my model required complete tub assembly, as the bearings didn't come separate. Had a heck of a time getting the inner tub unstuck! Probably saved me the heart ache of pounding out the bearings for buying the whole assembly, but re-assembly went great with NO parts leftover. Washer runs great, nice and quiet. Even the neighbors... Read more
I followed the video that was posted on your website, very informative and easy to follow. Only problem was, was the drum and bearings refused to separate, even after a week of applying rust buster and using a 5 lb sledge hammer and 2x4 wood. Spoke with one of your exceedingly helpful assistants on the phone and he gave me the only other option was to replace the rear drum assembly and the inner drum. So easy!! It's back together and running! I now can revel in clean laundry! I only have... Read more
