• Ice maker won't dispense ice

Replaced the parts. Initially, in order to ensure the ice maker itself was still working, I did some repairs to test it. I repaired the cracked crusher cover with a plastic welder, I also repaired the glide bucket Lh with the plastic welder & some epoxy. I attached the broken ice stripper pieces with the plastic welder. If the ice maker made ice I knew it was safe to buy new parts. Common theme on the blogs was thermistors and or defrost heater/thermostat. Ran self-diagnostics which turned on defrost heater which was fine. I ordered a replacement auger from AppliancePartsPros.com. Upon receipt of the new auger, I watched the repair video and took the ice crusher apart. I found several other parts that needed to be replaced as well. Once All the parts were received, I again watched the video. The video was not specific enough to show how to reassemble the ice crusher blades and the two types of washers. Replaced upper and lower thimble's, lever arm, cam closure. Door stop was not the problem, but ordered it and replaced it too. The door of course has to come off, remove the top hinge, and lift it away. Lubricated moving parts with silicone spray. Be sure and put the door back in the open position, so the lever arm and cam closure can properly interact, then close the door. Remove the plastic grate at the bottom to get at the lever arm. Presto. Problem gone. Don't put excessive weight... Read more

I looked at an exploded diagram of my refrigerator model on the AppliancePartsPros website, called and ordered the part. It arrived quickly. I emptied the shelf on which the guide needed to be replaced, removed the broken guide, and put the new one on (only took one screw). Everything is back and working fine. Read more

Removed cheese/butter keeper shelf from refrig door then removed broken and replaced broken cover. Removed fresh food keeper tray & shelf from refrig and replaced glass top. Read more

Replaced the drain pan below the evaporator coil (it was rusted to the point had a hole in it) and decided to replace both drain tubes since I had to open up the back panel. The video on the website was very helpful. Thanks!! Read more

• Light not working

When diagnosing the problem, I discovered that the ice door was not properly sealing and that the solenoid had appeared to rust/corrode forcing the door open. I replaced most of the ice dispenser internals (solenoid, crank, door, and spring) following the video. The door will now open when dispensing ice (which it does!), and will oddly stay open for a few seconds once I am finished, but does seal properly and the chute/container no longer frosts over. The auger in ice bucket was frozen and locked in place (some how liquid water must have spilled inside and froze the shaft and bushing). When the motor was activated to deliver ice, the jam caused the motor shaft to strip the threads. With the threads stripped, there is no way (that I could find) to get the drive auger off of the shaft (btw, it is left-hand threaded). Thanks to the AppliancePartsPro, I ordered it online and received it quickly. I even used the step by step directions on how to replace the tube from the AppliancePartsPro website. Just be very careful and review the instructions first. Couple of important things: 1. Take a picture of the existing wiring and tubes before you take them apart. 2. *if* you remove the wires ( red and white plugs) from the valve, make sure you plug them back in correctly. 3.
