Had to replace the auger. The auger on my ice maker was made of plastic and had broken pieces off it. The new one is made of metal and seems to work much better. Was a fairly simple repair. However pay close attention when disassembling, I recommend using your cell phone and snap a pic of the different stages as I became a little confused when putting it back together. Using the model number of the frig, I located the part (Interface Dispenser Asm) on the AppliancePartsPros.com. After reading the Q&A section for hints on how to change the part and looking at a couple of YouTube videos, it seemed that I was up to the task. Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle. Read more

First diagnosed the problem by viewing several Youtube videos. Then ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.
