I researched online and found that it was probably one of two things wrong: the heat probe or the control board (clock). Since the probe was less expensive, I ordered that on Appliance PartsPros. Before we replaced the board, my wife tried to replace just the element. We had one we had ordered several years ago when this same thing happened. When that didn't work we replaced the board and could see where the old board was damaged so we figured this was the solution. I first felt along each heating element (bake and broil) hoping to find a rough or blistered place on them. But they were both smooth with no irregular places. (replacing the elements would have been the easiest and cheapest repair. Pulled the back off the range (unplugged, of course) - checked wiring. There were no loose connections or burned wiring. First i called sears parts direct to order this part, because that is where i purchased my electric range. they had an outrageous price of $98. unbelievable to think that such a small piece of rubber could cost that much. i also called a few other parts dealers on other websites. they also had high prices. when i called appliance parts pros they cut the cost by 50%. i am not sure if i could have found a better price because i stopped there. it is exhausting and time consuming to have to compare... Replaced igniter and orifice assembly, and replaced spark module. Used the video for help, but the video doesn't show the top cover piece that needs to be taken off first. Also the screws for the igniter set were stuck from old grease or something and had to be drilled out. Overall the project was well worth my time for the cost vs replacement decision. My tenant thought that the oven safety valve was bad, but after some research, I found that the transfer of heat from the igniter had to be sufficient enough to cause the valve to open.Your agent confirmed this and reassured me that even if the igniter was glowing, there was a 99% chance that it wasn't getting hot enough. It took a little longer then I was hoping but wasn’t terrible. If the burner is very old at all make sure to get the new screws. Both of mine snapped when trying to remove them. The new one works great. Read more

Had to pull double oven and range top out from wall which involved removing the upper kitchen cabinet. Took the sheet metal off the back and had the socket swapped out in a couple of minutes. My old oven works like a charm! Read more
