I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. It didn't look like a difficult fix so I ordered four new hinges and four new receptacles, which arrived quickly. I found a video on YouTube that showed how to replace the hinges and it... Read more
Refrigerator stopped cooling or compressor won't start? The run capacitor provides electrical charge to keep the compressor motor running smoothly.
I have a Kitchen Aid side by side refrigerator/freezer which is 8 years old. One day it just stopped cooling. At first I was just going to junk it and purchase a new one. However, I took off the lower back cover and noticed the compressor was not running. I knew from experience that these compressors need a starter capacitor and relay and it is not uncommon for these parts to fail. I looked on the Internet for a video which showed how to remove the parts. I also found a video which showed how... Read more

A word of thanks to AppliancePartsPros - they delivered in one day. Ordered at 4PM CDT and received the part by noon the next day. Also, Alicia in the help department was able to locate an electrical diagram for my old freezer. This was essential for proper setup and her persistence in tracking down the diagram was top notch. Now on to my problem. One day I opened the freezer and found frost and thawing food. I attributed this to the door hitting an item in the freezer and not completely... Read more

Refrigerator not cooling or freezing? A faulty start relay prevents the compressor from running. This kit fixes humming compressors in about 20 minutes.
Took access panel off the back of the refrigerator with 1/4 inch nut driver and found that the compressor was not running properly (humming and hot but not compressing). The compressor cooling fan was working as well as the fan in the freezer compartment. I fixed the same problem with another refrigerator by replacing the relay and start capacitor on the compressor. I pulled these two items from the compressor connector (gently pry the brown part from the comp terminals first and then the... Read more

Replace your refrigerator's fresh food door gasket to restore an airtight seal, prevent warm air leaks, and maintain efficiency. Confirm fit with your model.
Since the fridge was an older model, it had screws behind the gaskets. First, I removed the freezer door, then I loosened the screws and removed the old gasket. I then placed the new gaskets, corner first, then worked my way around the door until all sides was done. I tightened the screws. For the lower door, I didn't remove the door but I removed all items from the door shelves. Loosened the screws, removed the old gasket, then placed the new gasket one corner and worked my way around the... Read more
