The Drive Cup is an OEM part for GE refrigerators, designed for the ice dispensing system. This part acts as a housing that holds the MWF water filter. The manifold ensures that water flowing into the refrigerator passes through the filter, removing contaminants and impurities to provide clean, fresh-tasting water and ice.
Symptoms of a failing drive cup include:
- Ice not dispensing properly or at all
- Unusual noises coming from the ice maker during operation
- Ice getting jammed in the dispenser mechanism
Causes of drive cup failure often include mechanical wear from regular use, cracking due to stress or impact, or deformation caused by freezing temperatures which can impair its fit and function.
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
