Based on symptoms it looked like the timer was not working. I did a web search to confirm this and found your web site. I replaced the Timer knob components. Removing the cover that contains the Timer was simpler than I anticipated. Just remove the screws on the top of the back of the machine. Hold the cover and lift up and push to the left (facing the front of the washer). Removed the Timer Knob Clip with small needle-nose pliers. Grasped the Timer and turned counterclockwise to remove and unplugged the wiring clip. The timer is seated to the cover and held securely in place with one screw. I seated the new... Read more

I googled the error code and symptoms my oven was exhibiting to determine the solution and which parts to order. The repair guy was going to charge me upwards of $225 to replace the timer in my washer, if in fact it was the timer. I decided with Christmas just a month away that there had to be a better way. After speaking with one repairman, and then searching on the internet, I found out the problem with my Kenmore washer was probably the timer.
