How to Troubleshoot & Replace Bosch AP3764202 / 00436440 Drain Pump Motor Assembly

I watched a half a dozen videos on how to fix it. First to figure out the model because I did not have a model no. tag because it was a sticker and it washed off. Then a few videos so I could get to the part. The problem was all the videos were too new for my machine and they have changed the design after my machine. After trying several different things I was able to get the front of the machine off and get to the part. Then it was easy to fix with the help of the videos online

Hubby, disabled, opened washer, pulled out pump, ordered from you online, replaced it, Now, it is like brand new. It is10 years old. Never a problem til now. Now it's like new. 

I replaced the water pump which fixed the issue. 

Replaced washer pump 

Disconnected access door and was able to replace bad pump. Put tape on the access door edges, it might save some skin. Tight fit but the new part works as designed. 

Removed back of washer, removed clamp from hose that connect's basin to pump, removed electrical connector, pulled up and back on pump to unseat it from bottom of the washer. Removed pump from back of machine (slightly push drum to the side for a little bit more room). Un seated drain hose from the top. installed new pump in reverse order. Problem fixed, ran a load without a problem. 

Cleaned all hoses and replaced drain pump 

I wanted it to be a clogged drain trap, but it wasn't. I ran one more load hoping the pump would drain the tank, but on that load the pump made lots of noise and got hot to touch, but didn't move a drop of water. I felt confident it was the pump, so I ordered a new one and it got here 2 days later! I found a video online that walked me through the repair, I chose the route of taking the door and whole front of the machine off. As a woman working alone that little access hole just seemed too small for my lack of mechanical experience. It was so easy it was fun! It took me about 1.5 hours which included a snack break, and none of it was too hard to do or to understand. Didn't need more than my basic tool set, but I was glad my set has torque screwdrivers. I feel like my own hero for repairing my washer!
