How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6891553 / WR17X22072 Water Filter Housing Assembly

I ordered the Water Filter Housing assembly. Received in less than 24 hrs. 

Replace filter housing. 

Purchased replacement device from Appliance Parts Pros. Only difficulty with the whole process was getting the last bit of the hoses through the hole in the back of the refrigerator. The insulation that was attached to the hose with a trap was very difficult to get through the hole because of interference between the hose insulation and insulation in the wall of the refrigerator. Just took a bit of careful coaxing to get it through. Otherwise - it went as planned. 

Googled model number, looked for similar complaints. Tried everything recommended short of defective parts. Found You Tube of problem and ordered part. It arrives in 3 days. Removed and reinstalled and good as new. 

Purchased a new water filter housing that the filter attaches to in the fridge. Once I installed it the water was back to normal and ice was back to normal. Was easy to install but had to cut the zip tie on the foam insulation and coat it with a little Crisco to help facilitate pushing it through the back of the fridge. I put a new zip tie on and made the two water line connections and it worked perfectly. 

I replaced it with a GE OEM water filter manifold. 

I experienced this problem before but it was over 5 years ago. So I went online to your site and determined it was the water filter head housing assembly that needed to be replaced. I watched the video on how to replace the part and found it to be very helpful. I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros which I received very quickly. Then I replaced the water filter head as per your instructional video and fixed the problem. I am 81 years old and this fix was relatively easy for me. 

Went smoothly using your tutorial video. 

I replaced the water filter housing. 

With your help and wisdom, ordered the right part- installed. Repair done.
