How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP7206830 / AGM30063309 Parts Assembly,Svc

Replaced gas valve and decided to replace sensors as well. 

Unscrew the control panel from the back, remove the 2 screws that hold down the top section, slide it 2 inches toward the front so you can unhook the lid. Remove the 2 screws from the top of the front panel. Remove the 4 screws from the the front panel, where the door seals. unhook the switch from the front panel. The gas valve sits on the right bottom corner of the dryer. 

Watched AppliancePartsPros.com on how to diagnose problems and tested each suspect component with a multimeter. Process of elimination, then found out it was the gas burner assembly that needed replacement. Watched another video on how to disassemble an LG dryer. I followed the detailed and clear steps. Replaced the bad part. Tested it and there was heat.....problem was solved. Saved some money which is a good thing. 

Changed blower thermostat and thermistor. Changed burner thermostats. Changed igniter. Changed gas valve\coil assembly. Cleaned everything inside out all the way to the exterior house. Dryer 100% back new functionality. Note: igniter crumbled on removal. If on a tight budget consider just changing igniter. 

I noticed gas odors coming from our dryer when it was being used. I went to Youtube and Google to read up on the odor origins. That's when I read the Gas Burner Valve was defective. I was able to remove and replace the valve with watching Appliance Parts Pro instructional video. 

Replace old valve with new one 

I tried replacing the sensors first. That didn't cure the problem. Decided to replace the gas valve. I had the dryer apart a few times so it didn't take long (15 minutes) to get the new valve in. It seemed to fix the problem. After I looked at the old valve and noticed the gas adjustment screw was backed out of the factory setting. I'm not sure that was the problem or not but the dryer works.

I followed the step-by-step instructions in the AppliancePartsPros video and my wife and I cheered when we heard the gas ignite and we watched the temperature in diagnostic mode increase.
