How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5200557 / AHL72914402 Rotor Assembly

If a 61 year old grandma of 4 can replace the rotor assy. following the video instructions given anyone can, Washer had stopped spinning and was making a horrid grinding sound, figured some gears were stripped out. Hardest part was moving the washer out and trying to maneuver around in such a tight space. Love my washer/dryer set but limited income doesn't leave much room for extras. Knew a repairman would be costly so hopped online, googled my washer's problem, found this site that confirmed diagnosis and a detailed repair video. Read the reviews and knew I could do it too. Ordered the part and bought a small tube of loctite for the bolt (which had loosened btw). Within 5 minutes of receiving the rotor I was back up doing laundry. Thank you AppliancePartsPros.com. 

Replaced the rotor assembly, all went well. But what made me so happy about all this, was the lighting fast shipping from Appliance Parts Pro. I ordered it on Wednesday and received it on Thursday. we did not have to wait at all! I will do all of my appliance repairs through you guys! Awesome!!! 

Changed out the motor roter. Unscrewed the panel on the back of washer using screwdriver. Removed bolt from center of roter. Pulled roter off and replaced with new one. EASY.

Ordered and installed a new Stator Assembly and new Roto Assembly. Your repair video on these two items was outstanding and made removal of the old parts and the installation of the new parts quick and easy. 

I removed the rear panel.(4 screws) and found that the rotor assembly had a stripped gear. it would turn but the drum wouldn't turn. i replaced it with a new one which has a metal gear. the whole repair only took me about a 1/2 hour. it is working like new now. (i call that designed repair at the factory). the rotor assembly cost $62.62 with 2 day shipping included. 

Replacing rotor assembly the problem was it would make a loud vibrating sound in spin cycle and not Spain well it's failed the spin cycle test on the front load washer it would not get up to 105 RPMs on the tub 

Viewed youtube and your site to troubleshoot the appliance, I had a hard time believing that it could be the rotor position sensor switch alone. After seeing the nylon gear on the rotor assembly when I took it apart & reading about the nylon gear being (updated) replaced by a metal gear I ordered the rotor assembly also (I did no replace it, but feel it is a part that will fail). The replacement of just the RPSS did the job & we are washing clothes again, 2 day turn around. Thank You 

Replaced rotor assembly. 

Needed both bearings and seal. The spider was all pitted. Replaced it. Also stator assembly and rotor assembly were wiped out due to worn bearings. Runs like new now
