Craig M Farmingville , NY August 20, 2016 Appliance: Model LGCM2016CW Burning smell during spin cycle caused by corroded and broken spider arm on rear of drum Followed Appliance Pros video posted on YouTube on how to replace the spider arm also found video on replacing bearings and seal at Appliance Pros. Watched the videos before deciding if this was a job I could or should attempt. Video showed that only a few common tools, 10 and 17mm sockets, philips and flat medium screw drivers, and pliers (vice grips) would be needed, and the video totally demystifled what is inside a modern front load washer. Being very methodial and labeling ALL the parts removed and fasteners place in separate bins and writing down each step in sequence...... the repair took me about 5-6 hours 3-4 hours to break down machine including cleaning of drum. Once parts ready to reassemble, it took about two hours total to reassemble, put back in laundry room and start a wash load. You really had to do a lot of steps to replace the spider arm! I listed 35 individual actions taken. While the time taken was long, process was simple straightforward and made pretty easy by the Appliance Pros videos. Read More... Raul E Friendswood , TX May 20, 2016 Appliance: LG Washer WM2277HB Washer made very loud hi pitch noise Originally ordered bearings, seal and spider. After I took it apart, I found a small crack in the rear outer tub explaining the inner bearing failure. I ordered the rear outer tub, which is the way to go. It comes complete with both bearings and seal factory installed. Along with the new spider the job went perfect and hopefully I will get another 10 years of service. Appliancepartspros, can't say enough good things about them, great customer service and the Youtube instructional videos were perfect.
