How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5579032 / DC97-16350D Washer Support Damper Rod Assembly

First I tried to fix it by stuffing foam on all sides of the drum. That made it better but the machine moved all over the place in spin cycle. Finally, I bit the bullet and purchased the 4 damper assy rods. Install took 15 minutes and now the washer is like new. Spins fast and stays in one spot. No more annoying DC errors. I only wasted $20 on the foam so It cost $100 total to not have to buy a new machine. The video showed exactly what to do. It was simple. I'm very pleased. 

Based on other comments, I replaced the 4 rods. One old one was slightly bent. I didn't think there was must noticeable improvement when manually moving the bin back and forth, but the error code no longer appears. View rod replacement on You Tube prior to fix, it will make it easy. 

The spin cycle would go into a DC error (unbalanced load) and would get stuck in a loop. The cycle would restart and the error would occur again. I replaced all four tension spring assemblies and the washer has been working GREAT! I used a Philips head screwdriver to remove two screws on the back of the washer that secures the top (the two screws on the bottom of the plate), a putty knife to release the top of the washer by pushing and releasing the snap locks and pliers to loosen the hot and cold water lines. 

My husband replaced the damper rods (suspension rods called elsewhere) and the machine works like new again. Super easy fix!!! I replaced the four "Struts" holding the drum. It took less than thirty minutes. 

Incredibly easy fix on the Samsung. Replaced all 4 suspension damper on about 20 minutes. The washer has been running great ever since. Now I just have to remove the top deck to repair all the rust on my 5-year old unit. 

Replaced all 4 Damper Assy Part Number DC97-16350D (AP5579032) Samsung washer model number WA5451ANW/XAA-0001. It would have been a 5 min job if I had someone to hold up the top of the washer. As it was I had hold it up the top with a rope and a adjustable clothes rod. 

Replaced 4 damper assemblies (suspension rods). Cost less than $100 and the washer spins clothes dry like it did when it was new. No more error messages to rebalance the load. Spins fast and the clothes are very dry. Hardest part of the job is popping the retaining clips to open the top. 

Pull top of washer off lift up on tank and replace 15min. job works like neww 

We had a repair guy come to the house and he said it needed suspension rods and was going to charge $350 to fix it. I watched a video from YouTube, ordered the parts and did the repair myself in about 15 min. The repair was super easy.
