How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4579073 / DC66-00531B Washer Damper Shock

I replaced the shock absorbers. The phone representative was very friendly and helpful ording the correct parts for my washer and my order was shipped the same day. Received parts in 3 days. There was a really great video with step by step instruction that made no guess work for me. I completed the job in about an hour. The washer is working well and not moving anymore. I'm very pleased and would use this company again without hesitation. 

Replaced all four damper shocks. Disassembled machine to the point of removing the stainless steel drum from the tub to inspect the spider. Cleaned everything and reassembled. Found uneven resistance in travel between pair of the two different pairs of shocks, no spider damage. Could do it again in under 2 hours. Forgot to have LocTite thread locker on hand for reassembly. It's been like new for a week now, no issues. 

Only run 2 loads through after the repair, but I fixed it by replacing all suspension components. I replaced the 2 front shocks, the 2 rear shocks (different part number), and the 2 springs. I followed the repair video and it was close enough for the whole job to be done in an hour. The hardest part was getting the door spring out from around the gasket. 

Needed to replace washer counter balance. Also order shock absorbers in case they needed to be replaced, fortunately they didn't need replacement and will be returned. I used Appliance Parts Pros many time and always found them to be very helpful and the repair videos are very helpful. 

Replaced with new ones I ordered from here.

Found your video after searching on issues seen. Disassembled washer following the step by step video, found the issue with Spider arm and a shock. Ordered the parts, reassembled via the video and issue was fixed. Little noisier than it was originally, but attribute that to impacts of original problem. Was a challenging task when the amount of disassembly and steps required were viewed, but the video was great and was able to do it all on my own and not have to purchase a new $1000 dollar washer. fixing it for a little over $200. Looking to get another 8 - 10 years more out of our machine. Thank you for your site and the help it provided. 

I only discovered the broken shock absorber because the water wasn't draining from the clothes washer. I ordered the replacement part from Amazon but it was the wrong part. Came to your site and got the right part, delivered quickly exactly when you said it would arrive. Thanks for being there! Satisfied Customer 

Found the parts - and repair video - on the Appliance Parts Pros website. Ordered parts - thanks for having PayPal - and received the ordered parts within 3 days! Reviewed the repair video. I placed the washer on its side, to gain access to the drain pump, from the bottom end of the washer. Using a flashlight, was easy to see which clamps/hoses to remove from the drain pump. Removed the 2 bolts that fastened the drain pump & bracket to the washer. Disconnected the 2-wire power plug. Reassembly was in reverse order - the replacement drain pump ordered was the complete assembly - and very easy to install.
