Michael A Jasper , GA August 12, 2022 Appliance: Model VIKING VGSU 1024 Viking cooktop spark module would not work on one burner. Purchased replacement spark module. The module is located under the cooktop so had to replace by squeezing under the cabinet to get access. There is a metal plate that covers the module that needed to be removed-four screws. Unplugged the AC to the cooktop and unscrewed the module from the cooktop. Then, one connection at a time, I removed each wired push on connected to new module. After connecting all wires I reattached the module to the cooktop. Amazingly it now works just fine. Jeff W Manhattan Beach , CA August 21, 2020 Appliance: Model VGIC4856GSS No spark on left side of 6 burner viking oven Replaced spark module. Just turned off breaker for oven and swapped out the module. It all can be done from the top of the stove. No need to pull out from the wall. Module is inside a small aluminum box. Remove one screw to remove left side burners. Remove two screws to remove aluminum box (these screws also have a ground wire attached) Swapped wires 1:1, removed blue spark module (3 more screws) and re-assembled. Works great, took about 60 minutes. Could probably do it in 30 next time. Easy fix. Plus gave me an opportunity to do some cleanup (which took much longer than the repair). Amanda F Sherman Oaks , CA May 07, 2020 Appliance: Model VGIC365-4GBU Viking range 3 out of 4 burners were not lighting First, I emailed with Joe at Appliance Parts Pros, which was great to have someone answer my questions before ordering the part, gave me the confidence to try this. I was worried I could break my stove and then be stuck, but he assured me I wouldn't break anything just by taking it apart to try to fix it. I also appreciated that they would accept a return if I ended up not needing the part. Other places didn't offer that and didn't offer chat support. Per Joe's guidance, I turned off the breaker to my stove so I wouldn't shock myself. Then I cleaned it all really well and tried to see if that would fix it. It didn't. So I took it apart again, taking pictures all along the way. I attached the wires from the old spark module into the new one, in the exact same spots, using needle nose pliers to pull the wires out and re-attach them. In terms of getting the cover back on, the new part was different than my old one, shaped a little different, but I just used the screws on the holes that worked and left the other ones unattached. It was fine. Once all the parts were in place and my stove was clean from my first attempt, I turned the breaker back on and lit my stove. All four burners now light perfectly and stay lit. It was the spark module. I'm an artist and I figured it out, so I'd say it's a pretty simple fix, if that's indeed the problem. But I couldn't have done it without Joe's help! Read More...
