How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6238143 / W11106747 Bellow

I changed out the door seal as part of a full cleaning on my 15 year old washer. You must remove the top and loosen the control panel to get to the screws for the front panel. No need to remove the door, just take the whole panel off. I did use Washing Machine Spring Expansion Tool/Spring Removal Tool to take the outer spring off. Other than that I just used 1/4” nut driver and T20 bit for the screws and a Phillips screw driver for the inner spring. Switching out the part probably would have taken about an hour, but I spent several hours cleaning the filters and hoses while they were accessible. After it was back together I ran another cleaning cycle to flush any loose mildew and check for leaks. The part was an exact match, but I did notice some extra pieces of silicone that needed to be trimmed with a razor that seemed to be excess that squeezed out of the form during production. 

I'm an HVAC technician so I'm pretty knowledgeable in repairs many things, but your video made it a breeze for me to do the repair, and the part I ordered from you guys was exactly the same one. I will definitely be buying from you in the future next time I have to do repairs on my appliances. Thanks. Note it did take me a while because I took advantage to clean detergent and water despenser and drain clean-out. 

I ordered the replace bellow, which arrived promptly. I have had to get inside this machine more than a few times (the filter is only accessible by removing panels, as there is no access door, so I had experience getting to the bellow here. The inner locking ring is way easier to remove and install than the outer spring one. In any case, the actual bellow install took about 10 minutes once the panels were removed (which took roughly 15 minutes). Mold is gone and there is no more leaking. Wish this part wasn't so expensive, but alas, it's still way cheaper than a new machine.

The washer had a very slight water leak at the front. There was a small 1/4 inch tear in the bellow lip that seals to the door. Must have caught it with a pants zipper or something else that caused it. Their video on how to replace the bellow was a great help and showed exactly how to replace the bellow. The bellow was shipped the same day as advised and arrived in two days. It was in perfect condition. It took me a little longer than the technician on the video but all went perfectly with no surprises. With the front panel off, I also opened and cleaned the strainer finding a dime. The washer is perfectly dry now with no leak. Thank you for the video and a reasonably priced repair part. I'll be buying any other needed appliance parts from AppliancePartsPros.com. 

Replaced the bellow gasket. The video was awesome. Made it so straight-forward. The hardest part was putting that last spring clamp back around the outside of the gasket. 

Water escaping from the outer drum during spin cycles. After 12 years, the bellow and vent hoses were deteriorating. Because of these breaches allowing moisture into the upper cabinet, the dispenser errored when it was exposed to the moisture. Having these new parts solves this problem. I had to clean the dispenser and the actuator and reassemble. These were fairly simple to replace with basic hand tools in one job. It is made easier with 1/4 drive ratchets and nut drivers. 

Ordered a new bellow and saved $150 on the part alone. Watched the video and followed the step-by-step instructions. Saved another $250 on labor.

Replaced the door seal bellow. Removed the front panel and found water was leaking from the front of the drum. Replaced the bellow and have had no issues since. I've had the Maytag front loading washer for probably close to 10 years now. The bellow shakes with the drum so i'm not surprised that after countless wash cycles that it developed a leak, especially since I would consider it a wear item. The item I ordered seems to be an OEM item and arrived in OEM manufacturers packaging. The design seems a little different, and the color certainly is different, so it may be an updated part.
