How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007635 / WP312967 Clamp

Dryer quit working on a Saturday night. Ordered parts Sunday and they arrived Wednesday installed Thursday afternoon all parts fit perfectly and the dryer runs quietly. Positive experience. 

The motor locked up on my 30-year-old dryer . It burned the belt into. I installed a new motor and pulley. I did not really have to replace the pulley but I wanted to anyway. The motor was not identical replacement but the wiring was no problem to hook up. I checked the ilder and roller bearings to make sure it was OK . Replaced the belt and tried the dryer. The dryer worked perfectly. 

Replaced Blower Wheel to eliminate the noise. Cleaned all lint from the dryer at this time. Also, cleaned the vent system. I took my time, Therefore the repair probably took a little longer than otherwise. The video was very helpful in opening up the dryer. Just knowing the easy way to open the dryer made the diagnosis and repair go smoothly. 

Changed out blower wheel assembly, along with drum rollers, tension rollers and belt while had it apart. 

I didn't think it needed all the parts I ordered. Since I had the parts went ahead and replaced the shaft for rollers, belt, pulley roller. The job went very well, it took about 2 hours, thanks to the videos. Now its running like a new dryer.

After a little google searching, I decided to open the access panel. After a quick test run, I was able to locate the origin of the noise. A few minutes later, the blower wheel is exposed. It was not attached to the shaft anymore and the fitting had been rounded out. Parts replacement was very easy. Remember to take off the Front Panel of the dryer, and disconnect the Door Safety Switch to gain access and to remove the lint trap assembly. Dryer is now working almost like new again! 

Replaced most of the moving parts with new from AppliancePartsPros.com. Squirrel cage, rollers, pins, bearings. Sounds like new now.
