This thermal relief valve ensures that a pressure washer's pumps operate in a safe range to prevent any issues with overheating. When in bypass mode, the valve opens up to release the hot water. At this point, cold water can reach the pump so it continues to operate at the correct temperature. If the pump in the pressure washer starts to overheat, it is an indication that the thermal relief valves may need to be replaced.When the valves aren't working correctly, the pump can get hot and push the valves out of the machine. This inlet screen prevents dirt, dust, and debris from entering the pump from the water inlet hose on many different Generac pressure washers. Any contaminants found in the garden hose that attaches to the pressure washer will be filtered out through the inlet screen so the water is clean and provided at the appropriate level of pressure. This part can get worn out or damaged and let in dirt and debris.
