Replaced door latch and switch. Parts are plastic so you must know what you are doing to avoid breaking new parts. Videos were hard to find for my model - eventually I found a video that addressed a different problem but required disassembly of a washer cabinet similar to mine. Instead of just replacing the Adaptive Defrost Control Board , I opted to replace all parts related to include the Heating Element, Defrost Thermostat, and the Evaporator Fan Motor. I feel it was worth the extra money and piece of mind not to worry about what would fail next. This is a very easy fix. The only trick is that you must also remove the top and bottom trim parts above and below the handle (respectively) to be able to replace the handle, as those pieces cover the screws that attach the handle to the door panel. And really, removing those two pieces are the hardest part. The top trim piece slides up, whereas the bottom piece slides down. In my case, I had a little bit of trouble sliding the top piece up. The problem was that the motor coupler & shaft had a tiny bit of rust at their union. With the weight of the ice bin it rusted in the lowest position. This didn't allow the motor coupler to float on the shaft. There is a spring inside the shaft that pushes up on the motor coupler keeping it engaged in the ice bin coupler above. This coupler in turn rotates the auger in the bin to dispense the ice. I removed the motor coupler & shaft, tapped the coupler loose and filed off the rust. This allowed... Read more
