Kitchen Aid dishwasher is 11 years old, and the tines have been rusting and biting the dust one by over the last few years. I searched online for problems with that model. I found the appliance parts pros web site. It was the control board or the control panel. I ordered the control board. In 2 days it arrived and I put it in. That did not fix the problem. I then ordered the control panel. Again in 2 days it arrived and I installed it. That fixed it. Figured it was either the capacitor and/or motor. Ordered both parts to be sure. tried changing the capacitor first; same problem. Replaced the motor (leaving the new capacitor in place). Unit now works fine. Overall an easy fix once you get the washer out and tip it on its side or top to get access to the motor area. Read more

I bought the part from AppliancePartsPros.com. Removed water inlet hose. Removed water outlet hose. Removed water inlet valve which was held on with one screw. Replaced the water inlet value. Reattached both hoses. It leaked a little bit, so I had to put plumbing tape and really make it tight. Then the leaked stopped. Read more

We had a repair man come and inspect the unit (Independent). He said he would get the part and get back with us. Almost 8 weeks past, with many calls to the service for an update. So I ordered the part he said was bad, the control board. He did not check the fuse. I ordered the fuse, the new board worked. I removed the new and replaced the old control board.
