Dishwasher door panel was rusting Prashant K. • Fishers , IN • October 11, 2014
I had no hope of separating the panel from the frame without damaging the frame since the two parts were rusted pretty badly and the screws holding the panel to the frame were completely beyond salvage. So I had to replace both the panel and the frame. I ended up removing the electrical/electronic connections, removing the panel/frame from the hinge and then replacing it with the new parts. Took about 90 minutes but the hardest part was removing other items from the rusting frame without...

This OEM replacement part is sourced directly from the manufacturer and is a spray arm for dishwashers. The spray arm is the component that rotates and disperses water throughout the dishwasher tub allowing the dishwasher to perform its essential functions of cleaning dishes. If the spray arm is no longer spraying water effectively or the dishes are not coming out clean, the spray arm might need to be replaced. Luckily, replacing this part is a relatively simple process. To begin this repair, make sure that the dishwasher is unplugged. Then proceed to open the dishwasher door and remove the lower dishrack. Using a screwdriver, unthread the main screws that hold the spray arm in place. Once loosened, proceed to unmount the main mounting bolt that secures it to the bottom of the dishwasher. After that, set the old spray arm to the side and thread the main bolt and individual screws that hold the spray arm in place. This genuine replacement part is sold individually and is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand dishwashers.

Leaking at the bottom of the door Michael R. • Warren , NJ • July 05, 2016
Replaced the spray arm assembly. I found out BY ACCIDENT that this was the problem.
I accidentally loosened the spray arm while checking the filters. The next load of dishes washed without any leaks, but after the load completed I noticed that the spray arm had fallen off. I read somewhere else that a cracked sprayer could cause this leaking condition as the water is sprayed in areas where it shouldn't be sprayed and there isn't any protection.
Sure enough, close inspection of the spray...

Sump seal leaked water into diverted motor and of course our floor this is my 2nd kitchenaid to have this problem William L. • Taylors , SC • September 14, 2015
DIY, changed motor and sump. Put a dab of valve lubricant on seal. Wet outer seal of sump to get it to seat in bottom of tub.
Cleaned electrical connectors corroded by leak. Coated connectors with dielectric grease.
Had to buy additional clamp. Two clamps came in the sump package but both fit the smaller hose only. Neither fit the large hose. I wish the correct clamps were included. Home improvement store clamp is a little too wide to fit between ridges in large hose.

Dishwasher would not start Mark M. • Midlothian , VA • July 16, 2016
Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. Upon removing the control panel, the first thing I noticed was that the brackets that hold the two lower screws were broken. (So this was the reason that the door was so hard to open from the time it was new.) I trouble shot the thermal fuse, the door-latch switches, and inspected the control board trying to find...

Replaced the heating element as shown in the video. Repaired a bad connector on the wire leading to the heating element. The clean light still flashed 3 times. Determined that the thermal fuse also needed to be replaced. Replaced the thermal fuse as shown in the video. The clean light now flashed 7 times which I discovered meant that the control panel needed to be reset. I then reset the control panel by pressing the buttons: normal, heated dry, normal, heated dry. It now works perfectly.
