Leaking from the bottom or center of your dishwasher? The sump housing with included shaft seal often fixes this issue. DIY-friendly with video guide.
DIY, changed motor and sump. Put a dab of valve lubricant on seal. Wet outer seal of sump to get it to seat in bottom of tub. Cleaned electrical connectors corroded by leak. Coated connectors with dielectric grease. Had to buy additional clamp. Two clamps came in the sump package but both fit the smaller hose only. Neither fit the large hose. I wish the correct clamps were included. Home improvement store clamp is a little too wide to fit between ridges in large hose. Read more
Fix washer won't drain or ND error code issues with this drain pump assembly. Removes standing water and prevents musty odors. DIY-friendly repair.
Washing machine pump failed with the washing machine full of water. Replacing a pump used to be a bear of a job with belts, pulleys, etc. but I thought that I should give it a look before I called the repairman. This one turned out to be a small discrete unit bolted to the bottom of the washer. I ordered the new pump, which came very quickly to my door. It was a ten minute job to replace it. One thing that I did that made the job much less of a mess was to use a wet vacuum on the... Read more

Fix water leaking from under your dishwasher with this pump volute. Directs water flow and prevents leaks with integrated seal. 20-minute repair.
I reviewed the schematic and saw the Volute Seal, and Impeller Seal were the two that were closest my source of water. After watching the video about changing the Impeller/seal I removed the motor, impeller, and volute; I found that the impeller seal was the faulty one in my case. Since I'd ordered the volute and impeller seal kits (as I wasn't sure which it was) I installed both while I had it apart. Runs great, no water - simple to do. The seal changes took about 20 minutes. The only... Read more
Washer not draining or draining slowly? This water pump assembly restores proper drainage and water circulation. Moderately difficult DIY repair.
Checked catch filter and realized pump was gone. This is my 2nd time replacing a pump but 1st on machine. I have a cleaning business and my washer gets double the work. Fix a dishwasher that won't drain or leaves standing water. This drain pump assembly evacuates wastewater to complete cycles. Moderate DIY repair.
Replaced the pump and drain hose. The pump was easy. The replacement parts were identical to the bad parts. The drain hose was full of gook and smelled awful so I decided to replace that as well. The tag on the new hose alerted me to the procedure for installing a drain hose. If your dishwasher is not vented you need to create a high hose loop so that excess particles from the garbage disposal or dishwasher don't stay in the hose. The person that installed the dishwasher failed to do this which... Read more
Washer not draining or making groaning noises during drain cycle? This drain pump assembly removes water and debris. Check for clogs first; moderate DIY.
Fixes weak spray and poor cleaning caused by a worn impeller. Mounts on the circulation pump to drive water through spray arms. DIY-friendly repair.
Motor shaft was stripped, replaced with new shaft from Motor Seal Kit. Impeller was also cracked, so replaced it as well. I did run in to a small problem, the chopper blade was pressing against the metal grate on the piece that goes back over the motor seal. I spent about an hour messing with it, but thought maybe once it's all together it'll be fine. When you screw the impeller on, it pushes down the seals, which pushes down the chopper blade. Video on Motor Seal Kit page made it an... Read more
Dishwasher not washing or making loud noises? This pump and motor assembly circulates water to the spray arms. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
I began the repair process with basic troubleshooting. The two-year-old Whirlpool dishwasher was not washing. At first, I thought it was not getting water. I did a system drain which removed most of the water. I waited a few minutes then attempted a light wash cycle without success, but I did hear the unit getting water. And I noticed the detergent cube slightly moistened on the floor of the washer. Google led me to your YouTube videos. I assumed (and hoped) it was the pump. From what I read... Read more

Fix leaking from bottom of dishwasher or no water spray with this pump and motor assembly. Requires removing unit from cabinet. Moderate difficulty.
I discovered a major leak at the bottom of the dishwasher near the diverter motor. The leak was so significant that water dripped onto my basement floor. The dishwasher is 7 years old. I read a number of articles suggesting that the problem would be the gasket on the diverter motor. I ordered one and that wasn’t the problem. I removed the dishwasher from the cabinet and disassembled the sump and motor assembly. After doing so I could clearly see that the leak was coming from the sealed gasket... Read more
