Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You I have a roll out whirlpool dishwasher that wasn't cleaning properly   Andrew M. • Spokane , WA • January 22, 2020

I've had to repair this appliance before, and it's almost always the motor-pump that needs replacing. It's a pretty easy fix if you have a roll out dishwasher. All you have to do is flip the dishwasher on its back, unhook the pump (no tools required, just push down the locking tab and twist and disconnect the wiring), and plug in the new one. I noticed that the tub wasn't draining completely either, so I replaced the drain pump as well just to be on the safe side. If, as I did, you let this... Read more

Blower Motor Assembly
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WD26X10056

The Blower Motor Assembly is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. This part is responsible for driving the dishwasher's venting system, which plays a key role in the drying process of your dishes.

Over time, the Blower Motor Assembly may need replacement due to wear and tear, damage, or failure. A malfunctioning blower motor can lead to ineffective drying of dishes, increased cycle times, or the dishwasher failing to complete its drying cycle properly.

Symptoms of a bad Blower Motor Assembly include:

  • Dishes remaining damp or wet even after the drying cycle is complete.
  • Unusual noises coming from the dishwasher, indicating that the blower motor is struggling to operate.
  • The dishwasher stopping or pausing during the drying cycle.

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You 7 yr old ge profile dishwasher blower was making loud humm during drying cycle   Robert L. • Rocky Hill , NJ • October 10, 2016

I had a repairman in to check why machine had no power. I watched as he opened the door up and secured the electrical ribbon in place and lights on control panel came on. Asked him questions about the noise he confirmed it was the blower. would have charged me around $250.00 to replace that. Spoke to a rep on the phone and ordered the part for $100.00. The replacement part arrived in 1 day. Looked at the parts diagram on your site to orient myself. Separated the the front door( screws)... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Washing machine would not drain   Chauncey H. • Menan , ID • October 05, 2014

Washing machine pump failed with the washing machine full of water. Replacing a pump used to be a bear of a job with belts, pulleys, etc. but I thought that I should give it a look before I called the repairman. This one turned out to be a small discrete unit bolted to the bottom of the washer. I ordered the new pump, which came very quickly to my door. It was a ten minute job to replace it. One thing that I did that made the job much less of a mess was to use a wet vacuum on the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Sump seal leaked water into diverted motor and of course our floor this is my 2nd kitchenaid to have this problem   William L. • Taylors , SC • September 14, 2015

DIY, changed motor and sump. Put a dab of valve lubricant on seal. Wet outer seal of sump to get it to seat in bottom of tub. Cleaned electrical connectors corroded by leak. Coated connectors with dielectric grease. Had to buy additional clamp. Two clamps came in the sump package but both fit the smaller hose only. Neither fit the large hose. I wish the correct clamps were included. Home improvement store clamp is a little too wide to fit between ridges in large hose. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water leaking from the area proximate to the motor   Nathan S. • Salt Lake City , UT • January 19, 2015

I reviewed the schematic and saw the Volute Seal, and Impeller Seal were the two that were closest my source of water. After watching the video about changing the Impeller/seal I removed the motor, impeller, and volute; I found that the impeller seal was the faulty one in my case. Since I'd ordered the volute and impeller seal kits (as I wasn't sure which it was) I installed both while I had it apart. Runs great, no water - simple to do. The seal changes took about 20 minutes. Dishwasher not washing or making loud noises? This pump and motor assembly circulates water to the spray arms. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher not washing   Don B. • Fort Pierce , FL • December 27, 2019

I began the repair process with basic troubleshooting. The two-year-old Whirlpool dishwasher was not washing. At first, I thought it was not getting water. I did a system drain which removed most of the water. I waited a few minutes then attempted a light wash cycle without success, but I did hear the unit getting water. And I noticed the detergent cube slightly moistened on the floor of the washer. Google led me to your YouTube videos. I assumed (and hoped) it was the pump. From what I read... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Leaking from the bottom of the sump area.   Jeffrey G. • Wellsburg , NY • June 26, 2022

I discovered a major leak at the bottom of the dishwasher near the diverter motor. The leak was so significant that water dripped onto my basement floor. The dishwasher is 7 years old. I read a number of articles suggesting that the problem would be the gasket on the diverter motor. I ordered one and that wasn’t the problem. I removed the dishwasher from the cabinet and disassembled the sump and motor assembly. After doing so I could clearly see that the leak was coming from the sealed gasket... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher was not draining the water out   John C. • Prescott Valley , AZ • June 15, 2016

Replaced the pump and drain hose. The pump was easy. The replacement parts were identical to the bad parts. The drain hose was full of gook and smelled awful so I decided to replace that as well. The tag on the new hose alerted me to the procedure for installing a drain hose. If your dishwasher is not vented you need to create a high hose loop so that excess particles from the garbage disposal or dishwasher don't stay in the hose. The person that installed the dishwasher failed to do this which... Read more
