Charlie November 17, 2011 for Model Number SGC304RS I'm converting my home heat from propane to natural gas. What do I need to have my Thermador cooktop converted? Will buying four of these 9mm venturis do it?
Alfred P. October 18, 2011 for Model Number Thermal Dual fuel range. Is there a special tool use to take out the venturi. I used a 20mm open ended wrench, but couldn't loosen it because it is on very tight from over the years. Because the ridge on the cap, my wrench was on a slight angle and it began to shave the top of the hex part of the venturi. Any special tip will be appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Alfred. You need to use a 20mm socket, not a wrench, to remove the venturi 00189321 from the burner. Hope this helps. Read More...
Pycarch October 12, 2011 for Model Number UGT935UC/01 I tried to change the Venturi because it was stripped while I try to remove it, now it just turn and not release. I must have a stripped thread and not coming loose, any good ideas? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Pycarch. You will need to check and see if the nut 00188978 that the venturi, or the venturi 00189321 is stripped. If so, you will need to replace the bad part. Try lifting up on the venturi, while you are unscrewing it. Hope this helps. Read More...

Brian September 08, 2011 for Model Number RDSS30RS hello, on my cook top, one of the two X LO burners then one located in the back left position, I get a spark from the igniter but no gas seems to be flowing. Even if I try to use a match to light, I get no flame. Any ideas, is it possible that the gas venturri tube is pluged or would it be related to the gas valve or potentiometer?
1 Answer Hi Brian. Have you removed the burner and cleaned all ports / jets with a safety pin or a pointed pick tool? Is the venturi plugged part # is 00189321? If the spark is fine then the potentiometer is not bad along with the ignitor or the spark module. So inspect the orafice for debris build up.Thank you. Read More...
Gary August 11, 2011 for Model Number SGCS304R You responded to my original question asking what burner is not lighting - it is one of 2 ExtraLow burners (the other ExtraLow burner operates OK). It is supposed to cycle on and off to provide low temperature heating. I assume there is an electrically actuated gas valve or its controller that is malfunctioning. If so, how can I diagnose which is defective and are they relatively easy to replace?
1 Answer Hi Gary. There is a spark switch part # 00189008. There is an updated potentiometer that is part # 00497235. It is recommended to have a qualified technician to install it. You can isolate and bypass the spark switch to see if your burner gas valve is OK. This valve is named in colors. What exact position is the burner incorrectly working? Thank you. Read More...
Gary August 09, 2011 for Model Number SGCS304RW One burner on my gas cooktop is not working. The other 3 work OK. A Strong spark is present on the one burner that is not working. If I use a flame to ignite the burner, nothing happens. It appears no gas is being supplied to the burner. What are the likely causes of this problem, are there any further diagnostic steps I can take, and are there any fixes/parts I can replace?
1 Answer Hi Gary. In order to help with your model, what particular burner is not lighting? There are different part #'s for all burners . Thank you. Read More...
