The Dishwasher Control Board is an OEM part for Frigidaire dishwashers. It operates as the central "brain" of the dishwasher, controlling functions like cycle selections, wash and rinse levels, heating elements, and input/output sensors.

Causes can be circuitry failures, moisture damage over time, or physical stresses from vibration.

Symptoms of a bad control board include:

  • Cycle failure or inability to start or complete washing
  • Temperature or input/output sensor malfunctions
  • Fault codes appearing or strange appliance behavior
  • Unresponsive buttons or input failures

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Mark, The most likely cause for the control panel to not light up would be an issue with the switch assembly part number 154852501.

Hello Greg, Since the unit fills on a timed basis, the issue will be in the control board 5304512731, (sticking relay). You should also check the float switch assembly 154773201, since it is the safety that should keep the unit from overfilling.

Hello J.L., This sounds like the control board 5304512731 has malfunctioned. If unplugging the unit for 10 minutes doesn't reset the board to factory default and correct the units' behavior, the board will require replacement. Be aware that if the polarity of the power supply isn't connected to the unit correctly, it will cause unpredictable issues and cause the electronics to fail.

Hello Steve, No, you should be able to change the board without any issue. On some models, there are torx screws that need to be removed to access the control board.

Michael for Model Number FDB520RHB2A

I recently bought a house that had been flipped and has was appears to be a new dishwasher in it. All of the literature was laying inside along with a sample of dish washing detergent. The house was on the market for a good while so the unit may be more than a few months old but nonetheless, seems to be brand new. The main trouble is that it won't dry dishes but it also seems to wash for a excessively long time it seems to me(between an hour and hour and 1/2). I've checked the continuity of the thermostat and the heating element and both seem fine. I've read the vent could be the problem but skeptical. The only other thing I could guess is the control board but with the unit seemingly new, I'm skeptical about that. Thoughts please?

Hello Michael. You must use rinse aid for the unit to dry. Also, you need to select the heated dry cycle. The HEAT DRY option in combination with rinse aid will enhance drying performance. The energy required to use the HEAT DRY option costs pennies per cycle. You may choose not to select the HEAT DRY option; however you will have items in your dish load that will not be completely dry at the end of the cycle. You may see water vapor coming from the vent during the drying portion of cycle. The vent is closed during washing to hold moisture and sound inside. The vent opens during the last few minutes of the final rinse and remains open for drying. The drying option may be changed at any time during the cycle and affects only the drying period. Opening the door longer than one minute during the dry cycle cancels the selected dry program.
