Symptoms of a bad Main Control Board include:

  • The dishwasher not starting or completing cycles
  • Error codes displayed on the control panel

Hello Ron. If diagnostics do not pull anything up, you will need to replace the control board. It is a configuration error.

Francisco for Model Number FRIGIDAIRE DISH WASHER GALLERY

1- Brand new unit. The panel lights work only when door is open. Once door is closed lights go off. Once the cycle is complete, no lights go on, except for a blue light at the bottom of the unit. Is this normal? If it is, can I override it to turn lights on with the door closed? 2- The sides of the unit are very hot. I can touch it, but it is almost "hot to the touch"... is this heat normal? I have no hot water going into the unit, only cold water.

Francisco, There is no way to bypass the controls and if this is a new unit would recommend having service out to check the unit to see what the issue with the unit would be.

Cain for Model Number PLD4555RFC3

My dishwasher control panel has become difficult to use and when I finally get it to light up with a wash cycle I want, it ends with 'washing drying ER clean S'. Based on other comments on your site (THANK YOU!!!) it looks like this is a control panel replacement part/issue. My question is: Are my dishes clean? They didn't seem to dry well but if 'clean S' is showing on the display... Did the wash cycle complete (and can I put my dishes away, CLEAN)?

1 Answer

Cain, With a problem in the control panel/key pad assembly 5304504659 / 5304504659 there's no way to tell exactly. Basically, there are several key pad inputs at the same time. This "confuses" the control board and it produces the error code. There is no way to determine at which part of the cycle this occurred. It's best and safest to presume the dishes weren't washed or rinsed properly, and get a new control panel installed as soon as possible. In the mean time hand wash the dishes.

Jessica, With the ER Clean S error this would be a faulty touch pad control panel. The control panel part number for your unit will be 807545704.

Hello Albert, You should run the water/service test. To activate Water/Service Test, place unit in Power Failure or Idle Mode and the press”DRY or “AIR DRY”(model dependent) and the START/CANCEL keys for 3 seconds. The dishwasher will then step through the test cycle, if at any time, the START/CANCEL key is pressed, the current step is terminated, while the test sequence advances to The next cycle step. The unit should display a fault code as follows: PF - A power failure has occurred Hd or HO - Water heating delay CL - Close and latch the door ER/ER....Switch Failure ER/CE....Configuration Error ER/uo.....Vent will not close ER/uF.....Fan not running ‘01-24’ - Hour(s) delay before Start (some models)

Jay for Model Number PLD4050RHC1

Dishwasher threw an ER code. I disconnected power, reconnected it. ER code had disappeared, but now dishwasher display reads "91" and the China wash light remains on. I can push all other buttons to change the cycle setting, but within 2 seconds it defaults back to the China light. Tried to let it run in that cycle for a bit, but eventually it goes back to the Er light flashing, the drying, washing and Surge light flashing and an S flashing. Is this a touchpad problem that can be fixed with a new touchpad panel? Or a control panel? Or both?

1 Answer

Jay, This issue would be caused by a stuck key on the keypad and would require a new control panel which is part number 154639211.
