Odette H January 13, 2014 for Model Number glhs36eew5 How do I replace the main power door for dispenser?
1 Answer Odette, To replace the main dispenser power board you will remove the drip tray from the dispenser and remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the dispenser. Pull out a little and lift the dispenser cover off. Once you have the dispenser cover off you will disconnect the ribbon harness from the control board. With the unit unplugged from the wall you will remove the old board and install the new control board. Read More...
Terry December 31, 2013 for Model Number GLHS268ZDW5 I have no power to the any of the ice and water dispenser controls and I already tried replacing the main power dispenser control board was wondering if it could be the ribbon cable? Thank You
1 Answer Hello Terry. It could be the ribbon cable. First check the wires at the hinge of the freezer door and make sure the connections are good and there are no broken wires. If the wires are good, check the ribbon cable. If it is good, then it is the control board 241708306. Read More...
Brian Adams December 01, 2013 for Model Number GLHS65EHSB Hi, I bought a used Frigidaire Fridge and the dispenser panel seems to have no power. I press each button and get no response. The light doesn't work when I press the button but everything else is okay on the fridge. I don't have it hooked to any water supply right now but I should still see lights or hear a noise when pressing for ice right? What part do I need for this?
1 Answer Brian, You will want to check the connector at either the top or bottom freezer door to make sure that the harness is connected. Also check to make sure that there are no broken or loose wires. This would be the most common reason for no dispenser operation. If that checks ok then most likely the dispenser power board would most likely be the cause. Read More...
Bonnie November 04, 2013 for Model Number GLHS68EGPB1 Our fridge was not staying cool. Nor was the freezer. The thermostat was all over the place. There was frost built up in the freezer.
1 Answer Hello Bonnie. It sounds like you may have a defrost problem with the unit. Check and see if there is any frost build up on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If so, you will need to test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat. They should read closed for continuity when cold. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. I will include a link at the end to assist you how to use the multi-meter if needed. If both parts are good, you will need to replace the defrost timer. Once the problem is repaired, you will need to thaw out the ice on the coils before the unit will operate properly. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Buford C July 23, 2013 for Model Number FRIGIDAIRE REFRIGERATOR SIDE BY SIDE MOD GLHS36EEQ2 IT WILL NOT DEFROST THERMOSTAT TEST OK , HEATER ELEMENT TEST OK SO WOULD LIKE TO REPLACE 241708202 CONTROL BOARD BUT AM NOT SURE WHERE IT IS LOCATED, I DID SEE A PICTURE OF IT AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE PLUG IN SOCKET ON IT WOULD FIT THE PLUG ON THE THERMOSTAT WIRE HARNESS, WAS WONDERING IF THE HARNESS PLUGS INTO THIS BOARD AND HOW TO ACCESS THE CIRCUIT BOARD. THANKS
1 Answer Buford, The defrost control is a circuit located inside the "genesis" control 5303918341 inside the refrigerator compartment. The dispenser control board 241708202 has nothing to do with the operation of the refrigerator. To access The ELECTRONIC control is located in the housing, mounted in the food compartment along with the light and damper assembly. To remove the Control Housing Assembly, remove the three screws across the front control box and the two screws located in the rear control box. After removing cover over water line on front filter models, remove the screw from the back of the control box. The 2 housings will separate at the left back of the front housing by sliding the rear housing to the right until the buttons line up with the larger hole in the slots. The Control is mounted on the left and it controls the cycling of the compressor, condenser fan motor, damper motor, and evaporator fan motor, as well as the defrost cycle. Read More...
