Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the range at the breaker before servicing
  • Use insulated tools and avoid contact with terminal ends; verify power is off with a meter

Jepoy, You will need to check at the main control board on the J3 connector for 120 vac when the dispenser lever is pushed. Check from pin 2 (purple/black wire) to pin 1 Lt Blue wire. If there is not 120 vac then the main control board is faulty and would need to be replaced.

I have an electrolux refrigerator, model EI26SS55G*. For the last two days, every 5-10 hours, the alarm goes off and I hear an on and off clicking coming from the bottom, left of the refrigerator that last about 2 minutes. The on and off clicking and alarm then stops. Then there is the beep every few seconds with the power fail light on. I press the mute sound button and everything is fine until the next time. Does this sound like a power board problem?

1 Answer

Hello Paul. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like a switch board issue with the unit.

Larry, There is an instruction sheet that is included with the control board 5303918523. To remove this control board you will pull off the lower kick panel of the unit. Once out on the left side opening you will see the board. The board is mounted using 1 - 1/4" hexhead screw. Remove the screw and pull out the board.

After a 5 day period of CE error code, and plugging/unplugging the fridge to get it to reboot and start, the fridge then graduated to trying to start up as if after a power failure, turning on and off, alarm beep sounding, and high temp showing on the display the fridge. Finally, day 4 and the fridge is not working. The display is still showing CE, high temp, door ajar, and alarm off. I am wondering what part I need to replace. Most suggestions have been to replace the Main Control Board (5303918523) but before I order the part I want to be sure I am ordering the right part for the problem. Thanks

1 Answer

Jim, The CE error code is a communication error between the user interface and the main control board. Changing the main control board should correct but it may be necessary to change the dispenser board as well.

Michael W for Model Number Electrolux EI26SS55GSO

Over a two year period, ice/water dispenser sporadically fails to shut off. Recently, power failure beeper sounds without there being an interruption to the electrical supply. Yesterday, "CE" displayed instead of refrig temp and freezer temp but compressor seemed to be operating. Control board did not respond to finger pressure input. I unplugged power cord to reset system. Upon resupplying power, beeper sounded, compressor seemed to come on and temperatures were displayed for a few seconds. Then system shutdown and communication error was indicated. Other Electrolux owners seem to experience similar malfunctions. 1. I need to diagnose the problem precisely. 2. I need to obtain the correct replacement components. 3. I need instructions in how to make the replacements myself. Can you help me with these tasks? michael whitesides

Michael, The first thing that you will want to do is to check wiring at the main control board and the user interface. To access the main control board it is located underneath the unit and held in by 1/4" screw. To access the user interface you will need to remove the trim around the dispenser and there will be 2 screws holding the user interface in place. The CE error could be caused by either one of these boards being faulty. You will want to replace the user interface first if all wiring is correct and if that does not solve then replace the main control board.

The ice/water dispenser sporadically fails to shut off but the refrig has worked properly otherwise. Recently, the beeper sounds as though a power failure has occurred even though there has been no interruptions to the electrical service. Today, "CE" is displayed for both freezer and refrigerator temperatures. The control panel above the ice/water dispenser did not respond to finger pressure input. Otherwise, the appliance seemed to be operating. I then unplugged it, hoping that the system just needed to be reset. When power was resupplied, the beeper sounded, temperature was displayed and the compressor hummed for a few seconds then the system shut down with only the communication error being displayed. I'm guessing that the main control board for my refrigerator is faulty. 1. Is it possible for me to diagnose the problem accurately with online assistance? 2. Are replacement parts available? 3. Is it possible for a mechanically inclined person who lacks special tools and direct experience to fix the problem?

Hello Micheal, Based on the information provided it does sound like th control board would be at fault and need to be replaced.

Ron A for Model Number EW26SS65GSO

I have had problems with this Side by Side form the start. The ice maker works fine but it sometimes will not stop dispensing ice or water. Then it started turning off and on like the power went out. I replaced the main power board and it worked like is supposed to. After about 3 mouths I came home and found the Ice maker dumped all the ice onto the wood floor. Now it will not stop if you open the door it will stop but every other time you open the door it will start dumping ice or water. Is the main board the problem or something else?

1 Answer

Hello Ron, You will want to get the User interface kit 5303918582 for this model. It will incorporate the main control board and the user interface which should correct your problem.
