For Frigidaire Oven Control Board Clock (Part Number: OEM18857898)

Mike for Model Number GLEF396CQA

Have changed burner controls about six years ago on this 20-year-old electric range, no issues. Today, just ordered a new control for the bridge element, put the old one back in somas not to lose parts…plugged it in, and get error code 7. Checked connector on the switch and had installed it incorrectly. Changed it to correct position, still code 7. Weird thing is, only burners dont work (except the warming burner, it works fine). Oven works just fine, too! Just not the burners! Ideas?

1 Answer

Mike, Based on the information provided I would check for an open switch or a harness issue...either loose or broken wiring.

Don, Check for the power going to the ignitor with a multimeter. If there is no power to the ignitor, then check for the power coming out of the board.

Marida for Model Number TEF351EWM Tappan range

After using the self-cleaning feature, the door refused to open, the control panel did not respond, and it flashed an error code that was either F10 or F11. I pulled the stove out and unplugged it for half an hour. When I plugged it back in, everything works but if you shut the door, after a minute or so the control panel flashes F11 and buzzes. I see from the videos that replacing the control panel is not difficult, but when I put in the model number I get a control panel suggestion from your website where the photo does not match what I am seeing on my machine. Is that a generic photo? If I order it and it does not fit who pays for the part return? Thank you

1 Answer

Marida, The F11 code means that the control board is sensing a stuck or shorted key on the touch membrane and the F10 error means the electronic control board has detected a runaway temperature. For the F11 you would replace the touch membrane or the control assembly. For the F10 you will need to check the oven temperature sensor and replace it as needed, if it is not the sensor then the board would be the issue.

Scott, You can try killing the power to the range for a couple of minutes then reapply power. If the error returns then you will need to buy the clock control.

Jim for Model Number FFEF3015ZWA

I sent for a new board for the oven in my stove model FFEF3015ZWA. The old part number is 316557114, and the new one is 5304511908. I see quite a lot of difference between the two, but the main one that concerns me is the new one has a set of 8 pins and 7 pins and the old one has two sets of 7 pins. In short there is an extra pin on the new board where the flat connectors hook on. My guess would be to not connect to extra pin, but I'd like to know for sure how to proceed. Thanks.

1 Answer

Jim, it is correct that the extra pin would not be used and should not impact the operation of this unit. The left-hand connector will have two pins that won't have wires on them, then the third pin from the left will be where the wires will need to start as this is pin 13 going to a temperature probe. The wires will continue to pin 9 and the extra pin will be skipped.

Roger, No, the control board should be the last option, there are other things to check first. F90 - Maximum oven door unlock time exceeded. Check the wiring between EOC & Lock Motor Micro Switch. 2. Replace the Motor Door Latch assembly if necessary. Check for binding of the Latch Cam, Lock Motor Rod & Lock Motor Cam. 3 Check to see if Lock Motor Coil is open. If open, replace Lock Motor Assembly. 5. Lock Motor continuously runs - if Micro Switch is open, replace Lock Motor Assembly. 6. Check oven door Light Switch - if open, replace Switch. 7. If all checks OK, then replace the Clock/EOC.

Brad, You will want to check the wiring between the oven sensor and the clock assembly to make sure that it is good and is not damaged. This will be the most likely cause with the parts that have already been replaced.
