The Oven Control Board is an OEM part compatible with Frigidaire ovens and ranges. It is the main circuit board that controls all functions of the oven such as temperature settings, timing, display illumination, and modes like bake, broil, and convection. Note: This part doesn’t include the overlay piece. You will need to purchase the overlay separately.

Symptoms of a bad control board include:

  • The display not lighting up or working properly
  • Inability to change temperature or time settings
  • Oven not heating up or baking evenly
  • Unexpected buzzing or clicking sounds

Causes of a bad control board are often related to normal wear and tear over time. As a critical electronic component, control boards can malfunction even with light-to-moderate use of the oven.

It is compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, and Kenmore models with the same control board.

For Frigidaire Oven Control Board (Part Number: OEM13763226)

Quincy, The wire for the bake should be a single wire with a spade connector. If you are having trouble getting this off you can use the edge of a flat blade screw driver and gently pry it off. If it is one of the white connectors there would be a clip on the side that you push to release.

Kelly, Yes, you can replace the oven control board. You will want to do a voltage check on the control board to make sure that it is bad. If you put the oven in bake and test for 240 vac from L1 to Bake, if there is 240 vac then the control is bad and if there is not then there is another issue such as a possible bad thermal fuse or thermal switch.

Bill for Model Number 790.92309012

We started to smell an electrical buring smell when our Kenmore oven was in use. Shortly there after the lower bake element failed to get very hot nothing over 150 degrees. I checked the continunity and it seemed ok with 16 ohms. While double checking the oven controls I saw a flame reflection indicating that there was a fire occuring inside the back housing. I pulled out the stove and unplugged it. Removing the back cover I discoved yes indeed there had been a fire. Needless to say the electronic control is ruined. I feel this controlled is defective. What has been your experience?

Hello Bill. It is not a defect. Sometimes, the relays can stick and short causing the issue you had. You will need to order and replace the control on the unit.

Noel, Are you sure there is 220-240 VAC at the wall outlet ? Do the cooktop burners operate ? If there's voltage or the top burners work, then yes your next check would most likely be an issue in the control 316557118

Laura for Model Number Model #79096012401 Kenmore Electric range

Last week we heard a pop and then the circuit breaker tripped to our oven. When we went to put it back on, we were only able to use the stovetop and the oven is no longer heating up. Neither of the coils are heating in our oven...we are looking to find out if it is the oven control that needs to be replaced or could it be something else? Also, we are no longer seeing any clock display nor have the ability to push the button to turn the oven on. That did work at first but isnt anymore. I appreciate the help! Thanks!

Laura, You will want to do a voltage check for 120vac to the control board. Check from L1 to N. If you have 120 vac to Neutral then the control board 316557118 is faulty and will need to be replaced.

Jeff, You will want to test from broil to L1 and from bake to L1 with unit set to that cycle and if you do not have 240 vac then the control board is faulty and would need to be replaced.

Bob for Model Number 790-96011400

While using oven, a loud pop noise and everything shut off. Checked electric panel in house & had to reset the circuit. Now only the clock come on. The stove won't turn on and any of the stove top burners when turned on get red for 2 seconds and then shut off. Took back panel off and checked all wires & connections for any burnt or loose wires and connections. The range is only 8 years old. Any ideas on what is wrong? Thank you for all your help.

Hello Bob, You will want to test at the terminal block to make sure that you are getting 120 vac across each leg of the terminal block to ground and across the 2 hot legs for 240 vac to make sure that you are not loosing power supply. Check these with the unit turned on to determine if you are loosing 1 side under a load. If so you will want to check home wiring.

Hello Mike, Yes the control board would need to be replaced. You may also want to look at all the wiring in the oven and home wiring for shorts. Breaker box and wiring to breaker box. Check power supply. There may be another cause other than the control that caused issue and if you put new control in without checking all wiring in circuit you may have the same problem.
