The Control Board Dryer is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire electric dryers. As the central processing unit, the control board is responsible for operating all electronically controlled systems and components that enable the drying process. It precisely coordinates heating times and temperature, drum rotation, airflow, sensors, and more.

Causes of a bad control board can include damage due to moisture intrusion, defective electronic components, or general wear and tear over extended use.

Symptoms of a bad control board include:

  • The dryer failing to start, heat or tumble clothes
  • Random restarting or stopping during cycles
  • Burning smells coming from the control board area
  • Error codes flashing on the display

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore electric dryer models.

For Frigidaire Control Board (Part Number: OEM11533674)

Jim for Model Number LEQ1442ES1

I un stacked our washer/dryer combo the other day, because of a washer drum boot seal leaking. I set up the dryer to run on the floor and now it will only come and almost immediately go to cool down mode. I was unable to get the code from when following the dryer tech data sheet. I did check the Thermal limiter (0.3 ohms), High Limit Thermostat (0.0 ohms) and Control Thermostat (53.5 K ohms). The dryer motor runs, cleaned out lint inside ducts and cabinet. I can occasionally get it to heat up, but will stop heating after awhile. Any help would be appreciated. Jim

Jim, The resistance readings are in range, and should be working properly. The cool down cycle is controlled through the dryer drum sensor 131845801 located on the exhaust inlet cover inside the drum. You may have accidentally knocked a wire loose on the sensor when you moved the dryer. It may also be a wire at the control board 134484212. Once you've checked the sensor bar and wiring, you'll want to clean the metal sensor bar with rubbing alcohol and a rag. This will usually remove any debris or chemical build up from the bar as return them to normal operation.

Hello Jacki. Test for power across the grey wire coming from the board to the motor and the white wire at the motor when you press start. If there is power there, and the motor does not run, you will need to replace the motor. If there is no power, then replace the control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Richard for Model Number dsxh47egoww

When I turn on the dryer it does not go to the heat sequence but to the cool down. Had a good service man over and he checked all of the connections and found out the one part of the circuit board head not connected. But if you hold the red & black wire together the dryer would heat up? So he said that I needed a circuit control board and that because it's a GE that the circuit board from Frigidaire AP 3844555 would work It's only $ 151 vercess GE # AP 4360484 costs $ 358.

Richard, Unfortunately, while the parts may look the same, the operation of them may be different and the Frigidiare part 134484212 will not work in place of the GE part WE18X29458.

Hello Kathy, This is more likely to be the door switch 134813601. You should open the unit and pull the tech sheet for the code listings and count the number of beeps since this is a form of fault code for this unit.

Hello Chris. It sounds like the control board is bad on the unit. Make sure the motor is not overheating. If not, replace the board.

Hello Brian. If the unit runs, and all the thermals are good, including the flame sensor, and no power to the igniter, replace the control on the unit.

J.C. for Model Number FEQ1442ESO

Hello, My dryer codes aren't in book. Has been blinking for a while, just unplugged. Now won't run more than a minute before shutting off, under all settings auto or timed. Tried to reset like manual said, doesn't work either. Took completely apart, cleaned out all lint. Appear to have some oil on back of drum like a small grease leak or something. Found ball bearing loose, replaced it. Still acts same as above. Is it a thermostat or the circuit board? Thanks.

1 Answer

Hello J.C., The codes will be on the tech sheet for the unit. This should be inside the unit in an envelope. The oil you saw near the rear of the unit is where the rear bearing was lubricated from the factory and is normal. There is nothing in there to leak. As far as what part to replace, you need to follow the troubleshooting instructions on the tech sheet and let us know at that point if further assistance is required. If the unit runs about a minutes every time you try to use it. I would first suspect a poor electrical connection and start looking at the terminal block where the power cord connects electrically to the unit.
