The Control Board Dryer is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire electric dryers. As the central processing unit, the control board is responsible for operating all electronically controlled systems and components that enable the drying process. It precisely coordinates heating times and temperature, drum rotation, airflow, sensors, and more.

Causes of a bad control board can include damage due to moisture intrusion, defective electronic components, or general wear and tear over extended use.

Symptoms of a bad control board include:

  • The dryer failing to start, heat or tumble clothes
  • Random restarting or stopping during cycles
  • Burning smells coming from the control board area
  • Error codes flashing on the display

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore electric dryer models.

Hello Robert. Try turning the tub as you press the start button. If the unit starts and runs, then you will need to replace the motor on the unit. It sounds like a motor issue.

Hello Joe, The first thing you need to do is to make sure one side of the breaker isn't tripped. If it isn't, you should use a test meter to insure the unit has 240Vac supplied to it. If it does, you will need to replace the control 134484212.

Mike for Model Number LGQ1442ES0

My 7-year-old Frigidaire Propane dryer purchased in 2005 has been giving off random beeps for several months, but otherwise it was working okay so we just unplugged it every so often to make the beeping stop. But yesterday it refused to operate and was beeping randomly. I was able to make the dryer work by selecting certain Timed Dry/Auto Dry knob settings (Delicate and 90 minutes worked but no other settings did). I also tried to follow the directions to give me an error code but I was not able to do so. I have taken it apart and examined the control board and the buttons are clicking properly and don't seem to be sticky. I am guessing it is a mechanical problem in the Timed Dry/Auto Dry selector switch, since some settings work and others don't. I suppose I will need to order a new Control Board. Your website gives this as Part Number AP3844555 and Manufacturers P/N 134484212 and your photo matches my Control Board, but I don't find your numbers on my control board and I want to make sure I am ordering the correct part.

My 6 yr old Frigidaire electric dryer beeps intermittently and the lights on the control panel flash. Usually, the dryer dries clothes, but sometimes not. This beep / flash event has happened frequently over the past 6 months and seems to be getting more frequent. I have cleaned the lint filter and hose and vent to the outside and have unplugged the dryer for 30 minutes. NO help. I have been reading appliance repair blogs and it appears as if it may be the control panel /circuit board. What do you think? Is this something that I can install with common tools? Any special level of expertise needed to install the control board? Thanks,

1 Answer

Tex, First thing, check and make sure none of the control panel buttons are sticking, remove the dryer top and check the control printed circuit board and area for possible moisure, debris, or condensation. If all checks are OK, then replace the control board 134484212. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello John. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the front felt seal 134440200 and the rear bearing kit 5303281153. The front seal is most likely where the noise is coming from, but if it is bad, the bearing has been running with the tub dropped and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.

Hello Bonnie. Here are the instructions from the manufacture on removing the control board 134484212 and panel. Hope this helps. Removing the top panel: 1. The top panel is held in place in the front by four plastic pins and two metal tabs. In the rear by two screws. 2. Remove the two screws, slide the top back about 1/2 inch and lift the top off. Removing the electronic control and display: 1. Disconnect the dryer from electrical supply and remove the front panel . 2. Unplug the wiring from the control. Note: The two wires going to relay RL 2 have locking terminals that can be released with a small screwdriver. 3. Release the ribbon by unlocking the ribbon connector by lifting connector about 1/4 of an inch away from the board. 4. Remove the 4 screws holding the board to the console, the 2 screws holdin the diaplay to the console and lift the board and display off. Removing the console: 1. Disconnect the dryer from electrical supply, and remove the front panel . 2. Disconnect the wires from the door switch and unplug the harness for the sensor bars. 3. If the dryer is equipped with a drum light, disconnect the two wires from the drum light. 4. Disconnect the ribbon from the control board. 5.
