For Frigidaire Electronic Control (Part Number: OEM18999918)

Calypso for Model Number ffu14f7hbb

Deep freeze interior light flashes and alarm pulses when freezer door is opened. Control panel does not respond to temperature adjustment, etc. Control panel says 0 degrees which is confirmed with a thermometer. Tried powering off and restarting but problem continues. Obviously an alarm setting but not listed in Frigidaire manual and Frigidaire tech support had not suggestions. Has the control board failed or is there an alternative possibility?

Ganga, If you push any key on the control of the unit this should stop the light from flashing and if it does not then you would need a new electronic control assembly.

HK, First thing is check or replace the door switch 297243800 and check for loose connections, check the wiring harness at the freezer door hinge and make sure the door closes and seals along the bottom of the door and activates the switch. If the problem persists replace the control board 297235200. The control board is relatively easy " To remove the Precision Set control assembly: 1. Disconnect power to freezer. 2. Using a small flat bladed screwdriver or equivalent tool, carefully pry under the bezel until the retaining latches release from the door assembly. Pull control assembly straight out to avoid damaging the electrical connection wire prongs. To install the Precision Set control assembly: 1. Push control in gently with the palm of your hand. You may need to slightly adjust the bezel position up or down to align connector pins. 2. Gently push control flush to door with palm of hand."

Ken, If the unit will only work on flash freeze then this issue sounds like it could be a faulty thermistor or you have received a bad control board. The thermistor should read 10K ohms at room temp.

Hello Bernie, This can be due to a loose fan blade, frost building up near the fan so it causes vibration, or simply a bad part. In some cases, it isn't the fans' fault at all, but a fan motor mount issue, (like a harmonic vibration type issue). This is the kind of thing that basically just needs to be looked at to determine if the fan is actually causing the noise or if it is a nearby vibration that can be corrected with a piece of electrical tape between two pieces of sheet metal, etc.

Mike, With the unit having the hi temp on but being cold then the most likely cause for this issue will be the control assembly 297235200.
