Ken Bauer March 30, 2020 for Model Number FGHD2465NB1A Dishwasher is still draining at this time but is squealing during drain cycle only. I took sump apart and impeller moves which leads me to believe pump impeller/drain assembly is the culprit. If the bearings in the motor were bad it would squeal whenever motor turns in wash cycle. What is your thought? Have you ever encountered same trouble?
1 Answer Ken, With what you have described, yes you will need to replace the drain pump A00126401 Read More...
Kb January 02, 2019 for Model Number FGID2466QF5A My dishwasher will fill with water and drain but not wash anything. It as if the water never gets sprayed anywhere. We have replaced the water inlet valve, the washing motor, and the the float valve switch and still nothing is cleaning. What else could it be? We have also taken it apart to make sure nothing is clogged on the bottom .
1 Answer KB, You will want to test to see if there is power getting to the pump motor. If there is not then this will be a control board issue. Read More...
Karin June 23, 2018 for Model Number FGID2466QF4A Good morning. The dishwasher will fill with water and try to run but it will not drain. As soon it fills up to the fill stop the machine will stop running. And all the water will be in the bottom! Is it the pump and what part # would I have to replace? Thank you
1 Answer Karin, Your dishwasher has two(2) motors, the 154853801 Wash Motor and the A00126401 Drain Pump Assembly. If the dishwasher fills but doesn't wash, suspect the wash motor. if the dishwasher fills and washes, but doesn't drain suspect the drain pump assembly or clogged drain line. If neither motor runs, then suspect a faulty 5304514670 control board or damaged wiring. The likelihood of both motors being at fault, is rather rare. Read More...
Connie January 01, 2017 for Model Number FGHD2465NF1A My dishwasher is circulating water but it is making a loud whining sound and the dishes do not get clean. I cannot tell if the arms are spinning. I replaced the console a few months ago with a part from your store and it worked beautifully. This is a new problem and I would like to try to fix this before buying a new one. Any suggestions?
2 Answers Connie, It would be recommended to check the pump assembly to see if there is something caught down inside of it. If there is nothing clogged in the pump then the motor would need to be replaced. Read More...

2 Answers Connie, check the water level in the bottom of the tub. Low water level will make the pump sound noisier than normal and the dishes won't look or seem clean. Start the dishwasher on a regular cycle, let it fill and wash for a few minute (5 or 10 minutes), unlatch the door, remove the lower dish rack, the water level should be approximately 1 inch deep in the center area near the lower spray arm assembly. If it too low, replace the fill valve 154637401 . Read More...
Steve December 18, 2016 for Model Number FPHD2485NF1A My dishwasher will not drain. I removed the motor assembly. There are two electrical connections. One with two wires and one three wires. I assume that the two wire connector is for power. I checked it with a continuity meter, and show no continuity at all. Is this indicative of a bad motor? Is there another way to test the motor now that I have it our of the dishwasher?
1 Answer Steve, You would want to test the 2 wire connection for 120 vac when the drain is on. If there is 120 vac then the motor is faulty and would need replaced. Read More...
Rich June 16, 2016 for Model Number FGHD2465NF1A When I pulled the motor out it came out in 2 pieces. Is the piece with the impeller and what I assume is the front seal supposed to be attached to the larger rear piece that houses the electric motor? It looks like there is a plastic pin that has snapped off which was supposed to hold the 2 pieces together. Does this mean I need to replace the motor assembly? I used your diagram and the part was #70 "motor"
1 Answer Rich, Yes the impeller section should mount to the larger rear piece that houses the motor. The motor assembly would need to be replaced. Read More...
Dicky February 16, 2015 for Model Number FGHD2465NF1A The dishwasher makes a grinding noise when it changes directions or speeds. Like a transmission trying to go into gear without using the clutch. What would that be. 2yr old Frigidaire.
1 Answer Dicky, You will want to check to make sure that there is nothing caught down in the pump assembly. If there is nothing caught then the issue would most likely be a bad bearing on the circulation pump and would need to be replaced. Read More...
