Valerie, It sounds likely that the display control board would be faulty but unfortunately looks like there are not control board parts for this unit.

Hello James, This would be a relay on the main board inside the unit. For the correct part number, we would need you to please verify the Complete model number on the units' I.D. tag since there are eleven models that come up with the partial model number provided. I'm sorry but this is necessary to provide you with the correct part number to operate properly in the unit you have in your home. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Marc, If you are unable to turn the unit off by the remote or the control panel then this will most likely be caused by a faulty main control board on the unit.

I have a Fridgidaire AC, LRA257ST2, that won't power off. The on/off button works, but only for the Cooling part & Fan. Something keeps running, I have no idea if it's the compressor or not. It just sounds like a motor running. After testing it all day, I noticed that most of the time the AC won't cut off at all, even after putting it up to 80, and being 69 in the house. I keep it on econ, so I switched to Cool & had to keep turning in off and on, with the noise still going. Also, if there's a part that will fix it, is it okay to still run it? Or would it overheat? Thanks

Kathy, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty main control board 5304492070 and would be recommended to unplug the unit when you want it off.

Ray, Three different machines with the same problem ? Are you sure the installation is proper and in the correct location, and there are no obstructions to the air flow outside. Then check to make sure you have the proper power supply and the power is maintained and not dropping below minimum requirements to keep the motor and compressor running and cool properly. If you can get a model number, and repost your question, we can check the technical library to see if there is a known issue or make some other diagnosis and recommendations. In the mean time try the checks we recommended. Thanks,
